Treasure Island (1990)
Best Treasure Island EVER
This wonderful new adaptation of Treasure Island is clearly the best ever. Truly remarkable performances and great action make this film a MUST SEE. Charlton Heston and Juilian Glover truly carry the cast. This easily gets on my top 10 list!

Merlin (1998)
Merlin magically lacks
This movie truly disappointed me. The cinematograohy was bad, screenplay was marginally better, and the plot could have used a boost. Special effects were acceptable and so was the acting. This movie definitely wasn't worth 4 hrs. of my time. I found it particularly lacking in action, and anything else that might make a good movie that I haven't mentioned. IT WAS DULL, BLAND, and ORDINARY. If you didn't see it, you didn't miss anything.
Babylon 5: Thirdspace (1998)
Thirdspace good but is out of context
Well, humm. Let's see. Odd plot, long dialogue, and an odd context that doesn't fit into B5 at all certainly take their toll on this movie. I must admit though, the suspense, action, and great special effects for a T.V. movie make this reasonably good. Strong performances from all the actors certainly helped make this movie better than most, but it was still sadly dull.
The X Files (1998)
Great suspense and astounding cinematography leave holes in plot
I must first admit that I truly enjoyed the X-Files movie. The cinematography and acting were superb, and the dark humor was a wonderfully delighting change from the common slapstick normally seen in Hollywood movies. I was gripped by the suspense and marveled at the astounding ending in Antarctica. However, in the midst of all this, there were plot holes the size of the alien ship itself. For example, why would anyone be helping the aliens? Maybe the answer to this lies in the next season of the X-Files. Maybe not. I am not a regular watcher, so I will most likely never know.
The Spanish Prisoner (1997)
Amazing and intriguing, this movie has it ALL!!
My, how I LOVED this movie. Acting, suspense, drama, mystery, and a wonderful script make this one of (if not) the best movies of ALL TIME. The ingeniously crafted story with an amazing ending make this a movie for everyone. After all, it had everything crammed into a 'PG' rating. I couldn't believe how good it was when I saw it. This is the perfect 'thinking man's (or woman's) thriller', but if it isn't.... 'Back to the shooting range for me!'
