The Other (1972)
Very creepy. As good as this type movie gets.
When I rented this movie, I didn't expect much. I had seen it years ago in a drive in theater and didn't remember it that well. I musta been lookin' at my boyfriend instead of the screen, because, wow, what a great movie! The movie starts out showing 2 boys, twins, playing. You soon find out that one of the boys is dead. One of them is also very evil. Now the question: Is Niles imagining his dead brother is contacting him, or is the bond between psychic twins not to be broken, even by death? You see, grandma has taught Niles how to play a little game.... Don't miss it! Good movie!
The Monster Club (1981)
A really GREAT monster flick!
THE MONSTER CLUB (1981)
Vincent Price invites John Carradine, a writer of horror novels, to "The Monster Club" a hangout / dance club for monsters. He proceeds to tell Carradine three tales of terror. This movie is just wayyyy to kewl. It's great seeing Carradine and Price together in this very fun to watch monster trilogy. The wrap is completely low budget, but looks just beautiful, with mask wearing dancers as "monsterish patrons" and tables in the shape of coffins.
The Monster Walks (1932)
Classic haunted house fare
THE MONSTER WALKS (1932)
An ape is killing people in an old spooky house! This movie is sooo bad, but also a wonderful example of the 1930's "haunted house" films. We love the scene where a dead body is kept in a room lit only by a single candle light...Lots of gimmicky scenes that were common in those days are practiced in this atmospheric movie. Don't miss it, it's a real treasure that will have you laughing, but also calling up some great memories of the era.
The Ghost of Flight 401 (1978)
A very creepy ghost story
This movie was based on the true story of an airline pilot who was killed in a crash due to faulty parts in the plane. His ghost was reportedly seen by flight attendants and passengers on other flights after his death. It's a very creepy film, much in the style of "The Entity" and "Amityville Horror". If you like true ghost stories, you should like this made for television movie.
Addams Family Reunion (1998)
Great cast, a tribute to "The Family"
Great tribute to our "First Family of Horror". Obviously intended for children, but amusing enough for adults. Tim Curry's Gomez is wonderful and the rest of the cast is stand out as well. Fester is a tad annoying as it seems you recognize his voice from "some other cartoon". Over all the story interesting, the cast is great and all play their parts as well as can be asked for. One of the very positive aspects is the obvious tribute to the original series. Anyone who knows the "who's who of horror" will appreciate this cast and the move towards original characterization.
