Almost Famous (2000)
How to adopt an instant hit
This is one of the greatest films of the year, Ms Hudson is fab, and the Kid is very compelling: I suggest the Untitled Bootleg cut, to see the original vision as it was intended: So many scenes are memorable, like when the Band-Aids take him to bed, the Pool Party, the Backstage interviews, and many many more... Can't give anymore away

Mulholland Dr. (2001)
This rates high as the Strangest movie ever seen!
Ok I checked the Movie explained story, and guess I will 'go to the videotape' once more! Not many people talk about what I believe the Director D Lynch is actually trying to say about Movie Making-- The Movie within a Movie (Caution those who have not seen Flic) is all about how difficult it is to get such an obscure picture made: The choosing of the Lead Girl by the 'Studio' and so on: And yes the Lesbian scenes as well as the 'get-off' by the chick on the couch are most exciting: It is hard to follow, cause I don't recall anyone setting out to Murder Rita, and didn't catch the 'Dream Sequence' at all!! Guess I must view it again more closely: even though the ghoul is most disturbing:

The Matrix (1999)
Kick-Butt, Cyberthriller,
A Maximum --full--out Kick-butt Movie---This one has it all Babe: Saw it 3x's in the theatre, and now with a video-copy likely a half-dozen more or so: Watch for the 'Black-cat' and Check for 'Kansas City is goin' "Bye Bye" This is the 'coolest' in Mind-trip films put out in a long time-also check-out the 13 th Floor for a different take on a similar journey!---Just strap yourself in and Hang-on--It goes weird and wonderful places! Enjoy! Cheerio T,,
12 Monkeys (1995)
Top Rate Sci-Fi,,
Again another wonderful "Future View" as we peer forward into our possible destiny, Unlike the 'Terminator' films and PC control,, this is Lab control, and it's possible side-effects! What a brilliant piece-of work, just marvelous Film-making all around First rate--As usual sit back, be stunned, be amazed, and most of all think of your Future if you dare! Cheers T,,
Frankenstein Unbound (1990)
Classic-Dark Horror-Clever Sci-Fi Twist--good measure!
Exceptional body to add to Mr Corman's other fine work: And John Hurt, and Bridget Fonda are exceptional.. This is a most clever piece of cinema: the Sci-Fi to actually create the 'hero's problems: and vice-versa: as a possible way to extricate oneself: from what is often a fairly 'touchy' ordeal: By all means If a free night, is at hand--Give yourself a few genuine chills, and enjoy.. Thanx Cheers T.
The Bridges at Toko-Ri (1954)
War is Brutal--Heroes they all are.
This is an exceptional picture, which clearly depicts the personal difficulties, particularly which Fighter Pilots must endure in times of combat. Mr Holden and Grace Kelly give fine portrayals of the young married couple, who must overcome the obstacles of a dangerous mission--A certain bombing Raid ( mentioned in the title) As the left behind wife, Kelly does a wonderful job, showing empathy for her husband, concern for herself, etc, and Holden is equally compelling as a troubled aviator in a difficult situation--All in all a fine Movie--good performances all around. The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961)
Riveting 'old-school' Sci-Fi-hits the mark.
This is an exceptional Film--and can be grouped into the same class with 'On The Beach', 'When Worlds Collide' etc, and others of the Classic B&W style. The 'Everyman' struggle is portrayed very well--(By the Judd character, and the scenes of the Tattered Newspapers lying in empty streets--are quite effective--:: Especially the 2 News scenarios shown towards the somewhat abrupt, seemingly unfinished ending?? But Oh well a good Flick all the same. Cheers TWG.
Rollerball (1975)
Solid Sci-Fi, Plus if violence is your thing?
This is simply a 'Great Movie' in every sense. It has all the classic genre pieces, an idealistic Utopian, controlled society, where The Suits rule, and conflict is handled via the Rollerball game--even though this concept is not thoroughly covered (Like a lot of good ideas, here, as the Reviewer from England said:: I also find it a shame: the back story was not more fleshed out: There is immense potential (at least for a series of exceptional short-stories if nothing else) in the Knowledge based centralized Geneva super PC and so on. Good Action, Good Ideas,==Good Picture-Check it out, you won't be sorry, I'd guess. Thanx W.
The Terminator (1984)
Good Intro to Series-Sci-Fi action adventure.
This movie is a great introduction to the series, and yet also can stand-alone as a genuine Sci-Fi Action adventure Thriller as well. Its horrific "Futuristic View" is enhanced by the "Wasteland" look of the future L. A. It gave Arnold the chance to perfect his villain onscreen and really went a long way to establishing Cameron as one of the true greats of his time, Viewed in tandem with T2, it is a thrilling Movie watching experience. Cheers. T.
