I will not get into to the discussion of this movie, enough people had done it. However, I encourage anyone who had not seen it, to see it. It is a powerful and uplifting story. A man under extreme pressure does what is right. He follows his conscience, having worked in non-tobacco industries before going to work for Brown & Williamson.

It is people like Jeffrey Wigand that makes this world a decent place to live. He represents the best of the human spirit that drives us all. ...ShamimH.

Dr. Zhivago is a classic. I loved it and encourage everyone to see it. Julie Christie as Lara and Omar Sharif as Zhivago were perfect in their roles. David Lean's penchant for perfection in every detail, from the photography, costume to the music are the works of a genius. It is a sad experience, but that is what it was a period of great tragedy of the early 20th century.

I hope future generations find it as endearing as I found this movie to be!

This film is a reminder to all of us, that our stay in this life is finite. One of Kurosawa's early film, it brilliantly portrays the story of an ordinary bureaucrat who suddenly finds the meaning of life, but at almost the very end. This movie will refocus your priorities, in a way very few movies ever can!

This a moving story on the sacrifices and progress attained in the military in particular and society in general by the American Blacks. It is a wonderful film made by Norman Jewison and that reveals many new actors including Denzell Washington. The words "Powerful" and "Moving", aptly describe this movie, it never wears out as many times as you watch it.

The final episode of the Trilogy takes us to a young adult Apu. Received the British Film Award which Sathyajits' other two episodes (Song of the Road, Unvanquished) also received.

This movie together with the other two movies are a monumental work in movie making. The way the story is portrayed, and the use of many details, enrich the emotional experience it provides. One can recall the way the screen of the movie theatre fades into the window of the horse carriage, or the way the hole on the window curtain reverberates with the spotted decorations on the actress face and etc.

This a "must see" movie for all, in the different ways emotions are expressed and the way it takes the audience in a roller coater ride of emotions. It is an enriching and a moving experience. It reinforces and reinvigorates the humanity within each of us.

If ever a movie was done to evoke strong emotions, this is one of the best. It is an experience that remains with you all your life and once acquired it's taste all other movies seem shallow and superficial. This is not a movie for the traditional "fun and excitement," rather a serious movie that evokes parts of our emotional spectrum that we did not know existed. Humanity is one of its strongest appeal. In Panther Pachali, Satyajit Ray gave us an immortal gift!
