Overnight Delivery (1998)
not terrible
I liked it; my roommate was disappointed because of the lack of nudity, but I was able to overlook that (thank God I'm not shallow!). Just watch it sometime if you're bored to hell and are tired of Hollywood taking itself too seriously. Although there's no nudity.
Howling II: Stirba - Werewolf Bitch (1985)
Ouch.
There are some movies so horrendous that they warrant being seen over and over again. This one's much, much worse than that. I've probably seen 60 movies this term at school, and Howling II is far and away the worst. Catch part of it sometime, but for heaven's sake don't watch the whole thing. Tell your children not to do what I have done.
Gymkata (1985)
Wow.
One night I was waiting for my friends to come back to the apt and "Gymkata" happened to be on; I watched way too much of it. It is indeed hilarious, and horrifying, really. Think about it this way--if in your job you had an idea for something this bad and went on to execute it in as terrible a fashion as this, how long exactly would you last? Not as long as this movie. It's a must-see, obviously.
Excalibur (1981)
What?! This is good?!
What frightened me particularly about the reviews for this flick is that I couldn't find any trace of what HAS to be tongue-in-cheek in the glowing reviews from the contributors. It's really, really bad, involving some of the worst acting AND some of the worst lines in any movie I've ever seen. It starts out being incredibly faithful to THOMAS MORE's Le Morte D'Artur (not Tennyson, you're thinking "Idylls of the King," I think), and then just gets really, really stupid, and abandons all pretext of even having read the original story. It's horrendous in every way. A lot of movies stink because they have no major stars. This movie has tons, and they all stink. Ask Patrick Stewart or Liam Neeson or Helen Mirren if this is a good movie. Oh yeah, and it's way too long. The director should be spanked for managing to fail in every way that he could have. He should've made this
work.
