Two Turtle Doves (2019)
Better than most of the genre
It's so nice to see one of these movies that contains people who behave like people act, and say things people say. Sure, there's a bit of artifice, but not enough to distract. On the other hand, half of the stars are virtually deducted because Hallmark Movies & Mysteries vandalized the bottom 25% of the screen with annoying banners for nearly all of the running time.
Playhouse Presents: Nixon's the One (2012)
Harry Shearer as Nixon: Wow
(Note: This is episode 3 of the "Playhouse Presents" series.) Shearer is known for his collection of audio and video artifacts. Here, he takes the infamous Nixon tapes from the Oval Office and presents them pretty much as they are, but acted out in what comes across as a very authentic simulation.
Anybody under the age of 40 might have trouble believing that this isn't all fiction. Horrifying enough, the entire script comes from those tapes. Granted, this might be a disappointment for viewers who are expecting a higher number of punch lines, but, well, reality doesn't always cooperate in that way.

Thirteen Conversations About One Thing (2001)
two hands drawing each other
What a mind-blowing film. If M.C. Escher made movies, this would have been one of his. It folds back on itself to lead to a punch line (of sorts) that caught me completely by surprise. Stunning performances. Not recommended for people with short attention spans. Attention must be paid!
