Pitch Black (2000)
"Alien" + "Aliens"= Pitch Black
26 February 2000
Like my summary above so tidily explains, if you have seen the first two movies in the "Alien" series, then you have pretty much seen this movie. I guess it was an OK timewaster, but I think I would have rather watched one of the Alien movies. They were better done than this B-movie mess. Once again, to clarify, THIS IS A BLATANT RIPOFF OF THE ALIEN MOVIES AND PROBABLY NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.

Rushmore (1998)
Offbeat and hilarious
26 February 2000
This was a really strange comedy-drama, and I think that really helped enhance it. It is definitely the best movie ever about an over-ambitious 15-year-old jerk/wannabe-playright who becomes infatuated with a kindergarten teacher and becomes friends with a lonely millionaire. Did I mention it is really funny (in its own strange way) and that you have to see it?

Dirty Work (1998)
10/10
Hilarious, and I hope you find it offensive
26 February 2000
Norm MacDonald is a true comic genius. If love politically incorrect humor, flatulence humor, or insult humor like I do, than you will love this movie. If you don't, well then, "keep your distance there, Liberace." Dirty Work is the funniest no-holds-barred comedy of the century.

P.S Don Rickles and Chevy Chase have great small roles in this movie.

The Matrix (1999)
The Movie That Shallow Idiots Think Is Deep
26 December 1999
The action in this movie is obviously the best thing about it, and it works very well, but the rest of the movie is just crap. Acting is horrible, could it be possible that Keanu Reeves is an even worse 'actor' than Schwarzenegger? Yes. As far as plot goes, don't listen to anyone who calls this movie 'thought-provoking,'. If you really want to see thought-provoking, go see "Fight Club". "The Matrix"'s plot is just a cheap excuse for the action.

Best of 70's True Crime
16 November 1999
This is probably the the best true crime "cop" film I have seen. Some reviewers have said this movie is boring, but I think they are missing the point. Were you expecting constant shootouts and random explosions like every other action movie? Or were you expecting gratuitous exposition like most Oscar-winning films? This movie is neither of those things. The most important thing about The French Connection is that it is very real. The gritty documentary look makes you feel like your really there, as does the realism of all the procedures. Gene Hackman is great and so is Roy Scheider in an underplayed but excellent role as Doyle's sidekick. My favorite scenes: the cat-and-mouse tailing of Charnier and of course, the chase. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes realistic crime films.

The Most Entertaining "Bad" Movie
19 July 1999
This has to be the most purely enjoyable "bad" movie ever. The lines of dialogue, production values, and plot are ridiculously horrible to the point where it screams hilarious ineptitude in your face, and you can't help but sit by and laugh.

Is this the worst movie ever? Certainly not;(As any fan of Mystery Science Theater knows)this movie is the Citizen Kane of bad films. It's the epitome of all that bad movies really are, and because of that it is honestly entertaining.

P.S Leonard Maltin is right; it improves with each viewing.

El cheap-o, El lame-o
29 March 1999
I saw this movie on TNT's "100% Weird" about a year ago, and if I wouldn't have had a bad case of insomnia, it would have put me to sleep very fast. Boring and cheap, but definitely weird to say the least.

The Rocketeer (1991)
Great fun
22 March 1999
I am 15, and this is one of the first movies I can remember seeing in a theater. It is a great Indiana Jones-style action adventure that needs to be taken as good fun, excitement, action. The characters are fairly convincing, the plot moves along at a good clip, and the blimp finale is incredible. The most memorable scene, however, has to be that great moment when the Feds and the gangsters team up to fight the Nazis. The main gangster and the main FBI agent are both standing side by side shooting at Nazis. Suddenly both of them stop and exchange a look that says it all about American patriotism. Almost brings a tear to my eye thinking about it.

Stranger than almost anything you will see
16 March 1999
If you think you would enjoy watching a movie about an armless kung-fu warrior and a legless kung-fu warrior who team up to get back at the guys who chopped them up... this is your movie

Pleasant if not inspired
5 March 1999
This isn't the best of the Vaction series by any means, but it isn't the worst. That honor belongs to the European installment in my opinion. The first time I saw this there quite a few good laughs. Randy Quaid was just as funny as ever as Eddie, he steals the show as usual. Also the blackjack dealer was a riot. If you're a fan of the other films you should definitely see this. It's a pleasant time filler with occasional moments of comic greatness.

Top Secret! (1984)
Wacky!
1 March 1999
If you are a fan of comedy in the tradition of Airplane!, I guarantee you will love this one. It's an often overlooked, very underrated editon to the spoof genre. Most of the gags are pulled off well, and if you are a movie buff or someone into the technique and cliches of film you will appreciate this one even more. All in all a forgotten classic of the 1980's. (I use that phrase with utmost caution!)

Rage (1995)
8/10
Totally unrealistic, but fun
22 December 1998
That pretty much sums up this movie. If you're a fan of non-stop action films, you definitely want to check this one out. There is one little thing that could keep you from enjoying Rage: I've never seen such unrealistic action in a film before. This guy does stunts that make him look like Superman. Example: in one scene, our hero jumps about 15 feet in the air off an exploding truck and lands on the ground, with only a few hairs out of place. Then he proceeds to chase a car on foot! For me, the campy action in this film made it great. If you don't like stuff like that, stay away from this one. However, if seeing someone doing a rolling dive in the air and machine-gunning 5 thugs at once is your cup of tea, I suggest you rent Rage as soon as possible!

Remake needed!
21 December 1998
This is one of the most truly exciting yet unknown and underrated action flicks ever made. I think that the Hollywood moguls should remake movies like this (not well known, but definitely good material) instead of movies we don't NEED remakes of like Psycho.
