Wasteland (1999)
"Thirty Something" meets "Beverly Hills 90210."
Wasteland is more than just your average television series, it is beyond most shows with its up-and-coming actors and actresses living in New York with a Kevin Williamson style. I taped the first episode and I was surprised at how interesting this show really is. Playing the naive and pure Dawnie, Marisa Coughlan does a wonderful job and her character is truly believable. I think that this show will really boost her career as a serious actress. We also rarely see Rebecca Gayheart in a sweet and flirtatious role. I think a lot of people will really enjoy this show no matter how old you are. I am in my teens and I still enjoy the show because it is weird to wonder what they must be going through and that I could possibly be like that when I am in my late twenties. ABC did a good move when they picked up "Wasteland," for their fall lineup.

Although most critics taught this movie a lesson in film making by giving it horrible reviews, I found this flick rather interesting. I thought all the actors and actresses did a wonderful job of keeping in mind that this situation is supposed to be reality and you can see the fear in their minds. This is most evident when they visit Mrs. Tingle at her house. Once they make the fateful mistake, I personally could put myself in their shoes because what if that did happen in real life. What would you do? How would you handle it? Helen Mirren did a believable job as a wicked teacher and Molly Ringwald has a nice touch on the film in a cameo. Marisa Coughlan and Barry Watson also did an outstanding job for their first big movie. I would give this film a A- for somewhat originality and full believability. At least I gave the movie a better grade then Leigh Ann received on her project!
Undressed (1999)
"Real World" meets "Sex, Lies, and Videotape."
Undressed has got to be one of the most taboo television show lately. My friends first got me into watching it on the third episode and it was crazy. The show deals with different couples, different problems, and different sex lifes. Even though the characters change each week, the issues are still interesting. I recommend 14-30 year olds to watch this show. I think everyone can relate to one character or another. This show will definitely entertain you for a good 30 minutes.
Friends 'Til the End (1997)
"Single white female," meets "Dying to belong."
At times this movie was scary, but other times it was funny how stupid the people are in it. The only person that acts somewhat normal is Shannon Dorethy. I think that not putting to much scare into the movie made it scary. The scene when Heather walks in on Zahn in bed with Heather's boyfriend is so unbelievable. Why would Zahn kiss her boyfriend when Heather was standing there after she catched them. Zahn was looking at her when she did it. Then the next day, Zahn said it was a mistake and to forgive her. I'm surprised Heather couldn't figure out Zahn was psycho from the start. The movie is very slow which makes it seem like it lasts forever but I must say "It will hook you." 2 out of 5
