The Good Liar (2019)
Flowers
I did suspect that we spectators were not shown everything. We could follow the actions and misdeed of one of the main characters. The other's background remained a mystery for a long time.
The acting of the main characters is excellent. However, this is not quite worth while to watch the film to the end.
And, by the way, those flowers on the painting were callas, not lilies!
Yemin (2019)
Riveting
Riveting, but also very boring and repetitive. Needless complications arise. See the comments of exasperated viewers on Youtube.
Studers erster Fall (2001)
Remake of "Matto regiert"
Being Swiss, I may definitely tell you that the language spoken in this movie is not Swiss German, but German. Some of the actors may have a slight Swissgerman accent, though. I believe the plot is based on a book by Friedrich Glauser, entitled "Matto regiert" (Matto reigns). There is a 1947 movie, based on the same book, with the English title "Madness Rules".
Dead Silent (1999)
Pale paraphrase of "Wait Until Dark"
The movie uses motifs that could be plagiarized from "Wait Until Dark" (1967), a much better movie by Terence Young, starring Audrey Hepburn. "Dead Silent" is a pale paraphrase. There is nothing new here -- the hidden object in the doll, the bad men wanting it, the bad guy posing as a good guy. The disability, though, has shifted : Audrey Hepburn couldn't see, the child in DS cannot speak. But both stories hinge on the handicap. Where "Wait Until Dark" built up unbearable suspense, "Dead Silent" lets you guess the outcome, the story being such a stereotype.
