Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!
no no no no no, ok so this was the biggest waste of time I've EVER encountered.. Sorry to all the Kubrick fans out there, but this was absolutely HORRIBLE.... The movie is chaotic, STUPID, all the characters drove me NUTS, the funny stuff was not funny at all, no, thats not true, the only funny part was the dialogue between the two leaders of america and russia, the rest was LAME!!! Sorry, dont waste your time or money by ever renting this movie... YUCK!!
Roots (1977)
wow..
...this is a GREAT mini-series... It will guaranteed take your breath away, and then send you into the bathroom, making you take a real hard look at yourself in the mirror. It's amazing, and I think it portrays the story and history of many african americans in the world. It will make you cry, laugh and rage with anger, but it's done so great, you feel like you got a gift handed over to you. 9/10 stars! See it - you won't regret!
The Waterboy (1998)
ha ha ha... but then what?
When I went to see this movie I had great expectations about what it might be, part from reactions from people I know, and part because I really loved Adam Sandler's role in both Happy Gilmore and the Wedding Singer. But I have to admit it; this movie didn't turn me on as much... Ok, I have to admit there were some funny dialougues, but all in all it didn't carry the movie through. I don't know what really let me down, I just know I came out of the movies somewhat disappointed - even having been with a great company. But it's something about Sandler's role as a more or less retarded person that didn't go very well, although he did the best he could with what he had to work with... Well, you might enjoy it if you go there just to have a laugh and not think to much about plot or acting, but if you want to see a funny movie go see "there's something about Mary" - that's a guaranteed laugh... All in all 5/10 stars.
The Object of My Affection (1998)
cute, but almost too cute...
First off, I rented this movie because I enjoy Aniston as an actress on "Friends". I think she's funny and a good actress, but somehow that wasn't enough to carry this movie all through the end. It has some really cute scenes and deals with an interesting topic, and although it's cute, at times it turns a little boring and too cute and oh-so-sad. But it is O.K. as a passing time movie, and the ending is pretty neat. So all in all it isn't too bad, but don't rent it in the hopes of finding as quick and funny lines as you do on Friends. You'll only wind up disappointed... Personally I give it a 5, but hey - be my guest to judge it different.

Excess Baggage (1997)
Excess Garbage
When I rented this movie, I didn't have too high expectations to what it was going to be like, but even so I must admit I was disappointed. I wanted to watch this movie, part because I enjoyed the easy going humor in "Clueless", and part because I like Alicia Silverstone as a young actress. But neither of these two reasons were enough to make me like Excess Baggage at all. The movie lacks a good plot, and is rather boring after a while. All though Silverstone put up a half decent performance, Benicio Del Toro didn't get his role together, and stood out like a sore thumb. A good tip: don't waste your money OR your time on this boring and dumb movie...
Titanic (1997)
Absolutely a masterwork!
This movie portrays how a society based on money = power really function in sticky situation. It gives a fair picture of how unfair this system can work. Along with being a realistic and believable movie, James Cameron manages to hold the audience's attention by evolving the movie and the historic happenings around the beautiful love story that occurs between Rose and Jack. Although the ending might seem unfair (I think I cried my heart out), the moral is that unless you are willing to let go of "the safe solution" in life you will never be able to gain something better. She did. A wonderful movie that will make you laugh, boil with anger, cry, shake your head - you name it. It is absolutely a "must-see" movie, that surely will make you think. 10/10 stars! Enjoy!!! (make sure you are in a situation where you can cry, and don't have to worry about your mascara running - that will just spoil part of the joy of seeing it!)
