Phone Booth (2002)
10/10
A real pleasant surprise
12 July 2003
I missed seeing Phone Booth in the theater when it came out. I took a chance in buying it on DVD. I was very pleasantly surprised. In no time I was thoroughly engrossed. Colin Farrell excelled in this as he did in The Recruit, and Forest Whitaker portrayed a cop who had the good sense to be cool and not jump the gun. The end took me by surprise.

Maxie (1985)
10/10
One of my favorites
29 June 2003
Maxie is one of my favorites. What is especially excellent is Glenn Close's ability to change between Jan and Maxie, by only a subtle change in expression. She was remarkable. Ruth Gordon too, made the movie memorable . As her last picture, it was a fitting tribute to a great actress. The entire movie couldn't be better. I am giving it a 10.

One of the best humorous character studies
28 April 2002
In the early '80s, I recorded Honky Tonk Freeway from the cable. Since then I have waited, hoping it would be on DVD. Yesterday I found it. It is one of the best humorous character studies I ever saw. The Old Fashioned episode is priceless. At this time (4/28/02) only two have reviewed it. One hated it, the other loved it. If you have a DVD player, either rent it, or buy it as I did.

Serendipity (2001)

Warm loving romantic comedy
9 October 2001
Serendipity kept me on the edge of my seat. I love a warm romantic comedy, and this fulfilled my every wish. John Cusack is one of my favorite actors, and is so versatile, such as from Grosse Pointe Blank to Bullets over Broadway, and now Serendipity.

A superb romantic drama
15 April 2001
This was by far the most enthralling romantic drama I have ever seen. Throughout it at various times I was in tears. It was so very touching. I didn't consider it as a fantasy for it was so genuinely portrayed that I believed every scene. I gave it a 10, but would have given it a 10+ if possible.

One of the best who done its
11 November 2000
Not only is this one of the best who done its, all of the characters depictions were excellent. I felt I was there interacting with them. Loved Cole Porter's score :-) But if he had been alive, he would have highly approved of it. I have the Laser of it, and if the DVD ever comes out I'll get it. I'll give it a 10 +, but there isn't any, so a 10 will have to do. I've named my black kitty Arlene, and my tiger kitty Daphne. By all means rent it or buy it; it's the greatest!

A home movie's out takes
2 August 1999
This is by far the worst movie I have ever seen. It reminded me of a home movie buff who never learned to keep the camera still, and then decided to splice all his out takes together rather than throw them away. There was no plot, only some people who got lost, and had absolutely no surprise ending. I could have seen Runaway Bride, but I didn't have sense enough to walk out of this piece of trash, since I had heard that there was a surprise ending. There wasn't any. It was worse than Xtro. I gave it a 1, but would have given it a -1 only I couldn't.
