FINALLY - a documentary trying to provide answers rather thrills.
3 September 2023
I'm so damned tired of documentaries that lead with question marks or talk about "could have beens." This film shows what we know, and it's actually quite a lot.

If you're serious about UFOs and the idea of slime visitation, you are required to watch this in order to have any credibility at all.

This is a sobering look at several famous sightings, analyzed by witnesses and experts - REAL experts, not Bigfoot chasers who do UFOs on the side.

Curious about the videos Congress is seeing? Wondering how we can know for sure what WASN'T aliens? There are answers here. Seek them. I wish Congress would.

Quite overrated: it's Oregon Trail: the series, and just as simple.
26 November 2022
Not really sure why there's so much love for this series. It's just stereotypes and a terribly predictable plot. My wife and I were writing the dialog two lines ahead of the show. In fact, the dialog is mostly people one-upping each other with witticisms. No real conversation takes place.

It's pretty, but the acting is mediocre, music is overwrought, and the drama is forced and without much resolution. None of the characters have any depth, and the son's scenes only involve him being told to "get back in the wagon." I'm not sure why he was cast at all.

It also does a disservice to pioneers, by making them all look like idiots.

So, meh. It offers nothing new, and it's disappointing that it came from the same source as the excellent Wind River.

Brazen lying

This is a show about two guys making stuff up in a desperate attempt to tell a story. It's belongs firmly in the "fiction" category, and bad fiction at that.

You will have less knowledge after you watch.

Lor? What about Lor?
23 February 2004
Come on now, how can they see yet ANOTHER Data and not think of Lor? All they had to do was mention his name and they could be forgiven. Instead they take the position of: "Look, it's another Data! Let's turn him on and see what happens."

Note that they don't concern themselves at all with who's shooting at them or why, or where B-4 originated or why B-4 wasn't called to his creator when Data and Lor were. FEH!

Non trekkies can be forgiven for not knowing this stuff from previous TNG episodes, but for ...Berman (and Spiner)HAD to know this was going to p**s me off.

It makes me want to cry...

Wow, I can't believe I liked it..
11 December 2003
I was a rabid 10 year old fan of the original series, but like others, I realize what tripe it was now. But this...this was interesting. I could do with less sex (although the sex with the Cylon was a MUST), but overall I was very impressed with the art direction and the 70's Japanimation look.

I'm looking forward to more. What a treat to be able to relive a childhood fantasy, and have it be geared for adults this time!

A thought about the language

Stepping on soapbox...

Clearly a lot of people think that the use of the F-word in this film was borderline criminal, unrealistic and offensive. I'd just like to set the record straight.

1) Having grown up and worked in the Boston suburbs, I've found that the film accurately portrayed the way young men talk with each other, swearing and all. Anyone who doesn't believe this simply hasn't been to Southie or Revere or Lynn or any of the other working class towns in Eastern Mass. You may not like it, but it IS realistic.

2) What's to be offended at? They're not swearing AT you. They're not even swearing at each other. They use the words not to offend, but as part of their group palare. It's part of the culture that binds them. They're not even real words as they convey no meaning. They're more like interjections.

If you're offended by the use of words, I ask you to examine what exactly you're afraid of.

Good movie, but where was the "real" Doug?
1 January 2001
This Doug movie was very much in keeping with the TV show BUT, Billy West who does the voice for Doug on the TV show didn't do the movie. I'm not sure why, but it was the first thing I noticed and it annoyed me through the whole movie that the "real" Doug had been replaced.

Key West (1993)
An enjoyable knock off of Northern Exposure
13 August 1999
The characters were interesting, even if the original plot of the series was destroyed during the pilot. Too bad Fox couldn't keep it. I stopped watching TV after this was taken off the air. The last episode was one of the best.
