Awful militarism
17 April 2006
Might be this movie is funny in a way, to someone ... but in me it causes lots of hate. How can anyone, let alone children, be forced to be in a school like that?! I mean, if anyone joins a military school from free will that's one thing - I'll never understand why anyone would - but no kid may be allowed to be put in an institution like that without his or her consent! The extreme disrespect for people's Human Rights or personal possessions as it seems to be usual in U.S. army's instruction is wrong (and useless) for adults, but it's even worse for children. So ... if you like militarism, watch this movie and like it. If you don't like military don't watch it, you'll hate it every second between the few good jokes that are in.

A sweet movie that touches hearts of people who like to dream
22 September 2005
As French movie makers really don't need US movies to copy their stories, this movie doesn't just reflect one parent-kid-relation, which might be the most wanted and most treated subject of US movies (which therefore I find boring so I don't watch them if not, sometimes, for the actors/actresses involved) ... This brilliant movie is a story about the sweetness of childhood, against and through all bad that might interfere from the world of adults. Children's life in fact can, or should, be as serious as a game, as most adults forget once they passed the line to adultness. Pascal Thomas created a sweet fairy tale about a happy summer's day, combining the convincing play of Vincent Lindon, Alessandra Martines and more great french actors with the beautiful site of Nantes, introducing great acting talent Victoria Lafaurie and other promising young actresses. This is a movie that will touch all those who'd like to dream about a life far from responsibilities as we had (or should have had) as children.

Cute series for younger teens
20 December 2004
I read a rather bad comment of a person who's most clearly too old for that series ... please, if that'a all too light and easy for you just stop watching it! I think it's just delighting entertainment, and as such is much better that the same kind of series from the US. The actresses are cute, stories are common, not original, but OK. I think sometimes they loose their focus on that "sleepover" idea, but on the other side I missed the first half of the first season ... that might have changed ... (I didn't recognize that girl from the Pirates' series, which by the way {I wasn't allowed to shorten that ... "junk word"?!} was much more stupid!!!)

Great dancing, great story
2 November 2004
I watched that movie last week in cinema. It's about young girl who doesn't know how to live with a mother who's given up life, just doesn't care about anything. The daughter's looking for life, acceptance, for someone who takes her seriously, and she's finally finding a dance teacher, fresh from jail, who seems to fit. She is patient, interested, does something in life, shows feelings, and does all a mother could be expected to, so she is willingly accepted as replacement mother ... But why was she in jail, and how will the story of those two end?

The movie is about feelings and the need of someone caring about you, especially when your a teenager. Also it's about dancing, and the dancing scenes are brilliant. Plus the head actress, Clara Furey, is really cute. You should watch the movie, but always expect surprises, and not only good ones. Life isn't always nice to you.

BTW, that movie won the prize of the Youth Jury of Tübingen's French Movie Festival 2004, where it was shown as a part of the quebecois section of the festival.

The Worst Witch (1998–2001)
Great show for children
1 October 2002
Worst witch is a great show for young people. It's not about "religion" for crazy people who think witchcraft is real, it's just fun. I liked it much and still like it being an adult now. You will see young people with young people's usual problems and solving them by some kind of "magic" which noone ever intended to be understood as real.
