Ballot Measure 9 (1995)
An experience you are unlikely to forget .
Heather MacDonald's BALLOT MEASURE 9 resonates still five years after seeing it for the first time. Unfortunately, this film is as relevant as ever, as it depicts an Oregon battle against gays and lesbians in painstaking detail.
As rational as it is heartfelt, BALLOT MEAURE 9 is essential viewing for all Americans because MacDonald brilliantly illustrates how denying rights to one group affects us all. The most intelligent, instructive and moving documentary I have ever seen. It is a film you will want to revisit again and again and share with your friends and neighbours. Do not miss it.
The Hanging Garden (1997)
One of the best films I have ever seen.
A lovely, intelligent film that challenges the viewer's assumptions about reality, while celebrating the power of memory and redemption. I have rarely been so moved by the beauty of a film, visually and verbally. The performances are real, the writing superb. It also boasts one of the most hilarious weddings in cinema history.
