great tank battles great acting
15 October 2014
The movie starts off great. Its not slow paced and right away you are thrown into the tank and the war. This is great because the movie is suppose to take place near the ending of ww2. There is lots of violence but what else would you expect from a rated R war movie. The acting is great, Shia was the best,John Bernthal and Michael Pena were fantastic. Brad Pitt did a good job playing a leader who has to make decisions that will not please everyone. I was not into Logan Lermans acting that much and there was something about him I disliked. But everyone else was fantastic. Overall the tank battle scenes are fantastic and so is the acting. Its worth the price of admission.

Good Special Effects
18 June 2008
I saw a screening of the movie this week and was not expecting much. I liked the first Mummy a lot, did not like the second Mummy as much. I would say the third Mummy is about as good as the second Mummy. It was an interesting idea to have the movie take place in Asia. The scenery was beautiful and so were the special effects. I wish I could say the same about the acting.

Story has not changed much from the previous movies. Mummy rises, Mummy wants to rule world, must stop Mummy.

The new wife of Brendan Fraser is not as good of an actress or as hot as the previous actress. Brendan Fraser's son was not that great of an actor either. And i was confused with how old Fraser's son was supposed to be. It looked like his son aged 22 years but Fraser only aged 2 years from the last movie, strange.

Overall the movie was okay. If you are looking for a deep story, with great acting, then you chose the wrong movie. If you are looking for something to pass the time and some cool special effects then this is the movie for you.

great movie
16 July 2005
I have not laughed this hard in a long time. Wedding Crashers was a great movie, very funny and hilarious. From the first 5 minutes in the movie every audience member was laughing hard. But what else would you expect when you put Vince Vaugn and Owen Wilson in a movie together. The casting director was a genius. The movie starts off great when you get to see a day in the life of these two wedding crashers, crashing every kind of wedding that is possible. From Jewish to Chinese, you name it. But the movie really kicks it into high gear when vince vaughn and owen Wilson enter the wedding of all weddings, the Secretary Treasurers wedding, from there, all hell breaks lose.

The good points about the movie are that every scene with owen Wilson, and ESPECIALLY Vince Vaughn will have you laughing till your stomach hurts. The only character in the movie that i did not like was this one jerk who keeps getting in the way of owen Wilson and his love interest from being together. The guy acts like he is a psychotic steroid user or something. And I am not homophobic, but that one gay joke was one too many for me. Other than that the movie was great and I highly recommend it.

Brilliant
7 December 2004
I heard about this movie a few weeks before it came out. When I saw the commercial I saw no action, and no obvious villain, just couples talking a lot. So I expected nothing. I had no idea the movie would be this good. I am so accustomed to being able to tell what will happen in the next scene of a movie before the scene happens, so I find most movies boring. In this movie I could not predict what would happen and was on the edge of my seat.

At first you feel that Jude Law is just the ultimate pimp, every woman wants him and he hardly tries. You also feel sorry for Clive Owen because it seems that he is brilliant and good looking but his life is just going down the toilet. That is where the movie gets you. Later you discover that Clive Owen is a genius when it comes to understanding the human thought process and by the end of the movie he has basically stripped away all respect we hold for Jude Law and Owens shows us what he has known all along. He does this with all the main characters in the movie. We see what he has known all along, that Jude Law is a baby, that Julia Roberts enjoys destroying herself, and that Natalie Portman is a strong girl who is not mature enough yet to know how to deal with adult situations.

I think it is funny that people are saying that this movie is not happy and that it will not make you feel good about relationships, and that none of the characters are likable. I think what bothers people is that the movie does not sugar coat anything, what you see is what you get.

And in this movie, Clive Owen is a freakin God. His acting is incredible, the scene with him and Portman in the strip club was insanely good, and the way he plays with Jude Laws emotions is so genius and devious that you must admire him for it. Some of the stuff that comes out of Clive Owens mouth is so unexpected and shocking that you might as well assume his character has turrets syndrome.

the movie is very good. and if you do not like it because it is not a happy film, then go watch the incredibles or some other Disney movie.

This is a very good movie. 10/10

Best werewolf movie out there
2 July 2000
Unlike other werewolf movies you sit through this one to find out who the werewolf is, in all the others in existence you usually watch to see how they kill it who it is usually isn't that important. The castle was a great touch and the blizzard made it better. I guessed the ending and was surprised to be right but I cant be mad at that because any other ending would have be weaker. Maybe what really won me over was that opera like evil music. I sat down just waiting for the fat lady to sing. I first saw this movie years ago and I had just come from a party around 12:30 a.m. I had missed nearly 30 minutes but I couldn't bring myself to go to sleep but I just had to watch the movie. A very entertaining movie.

Not bad, but mostly not good.
27 June 2000
The movie was not exactly a tear jerker, I've seen other movies that are a lot more sad, this one is sad but doesnt make a downpoor. The angry guy really annoyed me a lot, and I don't understand how this girl could be such a hor and yet be so tender hearted. What they needed to do is leave him in a hospital, not on some road trip.

Not as good as Notting Hill but close.
27 June 2000
This movie is a great a movie, especially when you don't know what the crap it's about before you watch it. I really liked this movie because it really gets you feeling as if you've been in a love hate relationship for three years when all you've been doing is watching a movie for two hours. And these two actors are great, the fact that they liked each other in real life adds to the passion they are supposed to feel.

I'm tired of watching movies where people get divorced that seem so perfect for each other and in the back of your mind you think they should get back with each other, but in the occasion they do get back together, it suddenly seems like the problems they had befor disappeares, that usually makes it unrealistic. Thats why this movie is perfect, you want them to get together, which they do, and they still address the problems from before making this a superb movie. Since in my opinion Notting Hill his the best romantic comedy to ever be made and since this movie is only one notch bellow that that makes this a good movie. Maybe the reason I also liked this movie is because it mostly takes place in California which is where I live and love. But even if I lived in Australia I would still like this movie.

Didn't blow my mind, seemed average but the idea was good.
18 June 2000
I have to admit the concept of a criminal being reformed and then being attacked by his own victims is a great idea. But the movie which I was expecting to be incredibly intense, was actually soft. In the rape scenes I didn't feel sad I just waited for it to end. Kubrick could have milked the crippled mans loss but the whole scene was too fast, I mean Alex plays psychological games with his "brothers" but when it comes to the rape it's just a thing that he feels like doing. It seemed more like fun than lust And some "ultra violence" that turned out to be, it was nothing. I could understand why he would want to attack his victims, but the old man was the only one that worked. And the government was made to look too ridiculous, at least do it with subtlety, might as well have painted I'm stupid on all their heads.

In short, the idea is pure beauty but it could have been done better.

Made me feel like I was in a war more than Saving Private Ryan Did.
20 April 2000
Wow, what a movie. The first couple of minutes before they find the bunker, you feel so much tension as if you were really there. It was as if I switched places with the characters and was experiencing the moment myself. Saving Private Ryan perhaps tried too hard to make you feel as if you were there but all it did was make you think, ouch that had to hurt. This movie makes you think more like the soldiers probably felt, like, I hope I don't get hit by a bullet but I won't let anyone know just how scared I am I'll just take my mind off the subject. Then when they see a fellow comrad in danger you want to help them but not forgetting you can still get your butt blown off. And I must say I was impressed with the technology we have during war times, maybe thats why I liked it so much because I love technology and all that James Bond art. But George Clooney, to my surprise, was an ace as a member of the Special Ops division in the movie. It's a very good movie, the fact that George Bush makes a peace treaty with Iraq causes much of the tension felt by the viewer, how far will the other side go without breaking it, I guess you'll just have to see.
