Lola rennt (1998)
nonstop
this film was visually stunning and engrossing. every second of it kept my attention and that is saying a lot. the music was phenomenal and franka potente is hot. everyone should see this film. i had heard it described as mtv in the form of a movie. that description is way off. if mtv was anywhere near this interesting, maybe people with taste would still watch it.
La cité des enfants perdus (1995)
welcome to my nightmare
stunning visuals, beautiful music, complicated plot turns, and lovable characters. oh yeah, and amazing music. i've never seen a better movie in my life. everytime i see it, i find something new to love. even better than delicatessen, and that is saying a lot!
Dr. Caligari (1989)
waste of time and money
please, if you are thinking about seeing this movie, do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and money! this is one of the worst films i've ever seen and not in a good way at all. there is nothing funny or enjoyable or moving or even interesting. this film is a pretentious piece of b movie schlock posing itself as an artistic film. hideously failed effort.
The Alpha Incident (1978)
MENARDS GUY!
i saw this movie because i just loooooove the guy from the menards commercials and i found out he was in this film. i expected it to be awful, and i wasn't at all disappointed. the dialogue is horrendous, the editing is inept, the music is laughable, the characters are flat, the plot is predictable and the twist at the end is totally expected. i loved every second of it!
Repulsion (1965)
polanski's best work
okay, i can't really say that this is polanski's best film because i haven't seen all of his films, but this certainly has to rate highly. this movie is so claustrophobic and disturbing. polanski manages to shake the viewer thoroughly without just relying on the shock tactics that we're all used to now in modern filmmaking. this film puts into the mind of a girl that is going mad and makes you feel like you're not going to get back out. it is a classic.
