The Lesser Evil (1998)
Good movie but they ruined the plot...
Why did they have to ruin the plot at the beginning, when the priest (Arliss Howard) mentions that they had to kill one of them? If they had left that part out, the story would have far more suspenseful, especially the last scene in the cabin. Remember in the movie "Seven" (Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman)? Now that ending blew me away; not a hint about how that was playing out. Otherwise this movie is a must-see. The writing was brilliant, except for the spoiler part.
Forget Paris (1995)
Bright, fresh, funny, romantic
Good romantic comedy; great casting. Like most typical romantic comedies, the ending is predictable, but then most movies are. Billy Crystal is at his best; funnier than Woody Allen who has that annoying nasal, whiny, dopey voice. The late veteran actor William Hickey is hilarious as Crystal's dad. Good movie to watch curled up on the couch with your wife/girlfriend.
David Copperfield (2000)
ANOTHER ADAPTATION? ENOUGH OF THIS.
My first thought was, why another adaptation? The BBC version was pure poetry in motion. Why ruin it's memory with this garbage version? It seems that creativity and research are no longer used in the world of film making. The quest for greed; producers with no experience and/or talent, lend their ugly hand in remake after remake of stories that have been told over and over again. Come on Film World, let's be more original and do what film making is supposed to do: ART and CREATIVITY.
Only You (1992)
Romantic and funny, great performances
A fine romantic comedy, well delivered by the gorgeous Kelly Preston, funny Andrew McCarthy and much-too-serious Helen Hunt. Unfortunately Helen Hunt is usually cast in a studious-serious type role, (As Good As It Gets) and her wide range of acting abilities are not shown. Still, a fine movie.
