Indefinitely (2002)
A cute little film.
Just by chance I happened to see this on a movie channel last year, it was being shown as filler between feature length films I suppose, and I really enjoyed "Indefinitely". I thought that as a short subject it worked very well and ended on the just the right note (just when you wanted to see what would happen next).
It was truly a pleasant surprise, with smart writing (although the dialogue seems a little too smart for itself at times) and some sweet performances.
If you have a chance to see this and are a sucker for romantic comedies, I strongly recommend you see this short.
Have a good day then.
Birds of Prey (2002)
A great show with real potential!
Hi there.
I'll admit, I watched Birds of Prey, since I like to give a comic book show a chance before writing it off. I did the same thing last year with the Smallville pilot, which didn't really impress me.
But this was fantastic! The guys that did this show, did an excellent job. It was like watching a spin-off of the Batman films. You know, the good ones. The passing glimpses of Batman were well done, Ian Abercrombie was a great Alfred, and the brief shots of Catwoman and Joker (voiced by Mark Hamill, how cool is that!?!) were all really well done. They used the movie Catwoman costume! Amazing!
I loved Dina Meyer as Batgirl/Oracle. She did a great job bringing Barbara to life, and I hope we get to see more of her in that kickass Batgril costume.
Huntress was great. I'll admit, when I saw Huntress in previews I was expecting to hate her, but she was really, really likeable. And her fight scenes were incredible.
Dinah LANCE (yes Lance, contrary to reports) was nice. She brought a good outsiders feel, and I can't wait to meet her mother, the Black Canary!
The shots through the city were great as well. The closing one with Oracle and Huntress on the rooftop, and the bat flying by the moon was so cool.
Bringing in Harleen Quinzel was a great idea and I can't wait to see where they go with this.
The rest of the cast was great, even that pretty boy, Shemar Moore.
I cannot heap enough praise on the pilot episode of Birds of Prey. They've done a great job. This is definitely on par with the animated series. It's not perfect, but it's a heck of a lot fun.
Thanks and have a good day then.

Nick Fury: Agent of Shield (1998)
A Lot of Fun
Sticking to the content better than the still enjoyable telefilm Generation X, Nick Fury still provided a lot of enjoyment for fans of the comic who got to see their favorite characters brought to life. Having read the comics I found it fun seeing Fury, Gabe Jones, Dugan (Who was never called "Dum Dum" as he is in the comics, thank God), Quartermain, Viper and even Baron Von Strucker.
Hasselhoff did a good job, playing Fury much like he is in the comics, tough as nails yet likeable. Neil Roberts was a standout as Pierce as well, and I particularly liked Fury's line after he seemingly died ("I got better"). When have comic fans not heard that.
A great film. I watched it again not too long ago, and liked it still. A lot of fun for fans and anyone who enjoys stuff that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Have a good day then.
Generation X (1996)
Interesting Film
I'm fairly lenient were it is concerned to comic to film productions, and with that in mind I enjoyed this film. I haven't seen it since 1996 (I taped over my recording), but I thought that it was pretty good. The characters weren't as close as one would like, but it was still really fun seeing the four-color characters brought to life.
It was on as a late-night movie where I live about eight months ago and I watched and enjoyed it again. Heather McComb was a standout as Jubilee. Hey, I didn't even have to look at the cast list to remember her name. Neato.
It wasn't anything to write home about, but it was at least a fun adaptation. I mean, how many comics have been made into films anyway. Gen X fans should be proud.
Have a good day then.
