A poor spin-off from a great British TV sitcom
27 December 2002
As a fan of British comedy for many years now, I have to class the Ade Edmondson and Rik Mayall as two of the best performers of slapstick comedy for many a year. So it is such a disappointment to find that taking the TV series Bottom to the big screen, is taking a 20 year old joke just too far.

The setpieces were too contrived and repetitive for a start (fans would have seen this stuff over the last 15 years!), the performances just too stilted and the plot, well we've seen it all from Richard and Eddie before.

OK, so it's meant to be a lame no brainer, but please, leave classic TV where it should be - on the TV.

This is Ghost, without the special effects!!
22 March 2001
A wonderfully British film that captures the loss of a love one more personally and less dramaticly than it's near-as-damn-it equivalent, Ghost.

As other viewers have said (mainly women and those who have recently lost loved ones!), this is a great film if you are down and need a good cry.

There there!
