If films where made like this, I'd live at the cinema!
14 September 2001
What a fantastic film! For once I can find no criticisms! And I can assure you that happens extremely rarely in terms of film! The film opens and ends effectively, and is an excellent portrayal of the events that unfolded, with suspense (e-ssential!) humour, excellent characterisation, and whatever! The film is fast, slick and obviously intensely political. And as I believe, an anti Conservatism film, subtle! "I've been a Republican all my life. So have I! (Redford) as Bernstein looks quizically at him. It is far more than one of the essential conspiracy films, its about politics, life, how we deal with things, the quest to find what is wrong, to weed out those who cannot meet the challenge! All The President's Men is best accompanied with multiple bottles of cool beer and Doritos! Only thing missing is a woman, watch it!

Its life, and is just as relevant now, despite the time lapsing since the event. Deserves to be one of the most notable films to come out of the 70's and out of the film industry. If I had to give you any advice, forget get married or grow up or go away or read about Jack Kerouac (on second thoughts that too as advice) I would say WATCH ALL THIS FILM! It is worth it!

A Very good Bond Film, With what you would expect!
7 November 2000
You Only Live Twice easily slips into the enjoyable entertainment mode with fast paced action, excellent locations, girls, and plot. This is very much worth watching, and there are many good actors here, namely Donald Pleasance and Charles Gray. Connery's performance is what you would expect, but there are no defining sequences such as in Dr.No, Diamonds are Forever or Thunderball, probably because Connery's heart was not in it (he wanted to quit after Thunderball)

Marnie (1964)
What can I say? You shall watch this!
6 March 2000
I think this just about proves that Sean Connery is an excellent actor outside Bond. At the time when Marnie was released, it recieved bad reviews. Why is a mystery to me. This film has everything you want in a film, and it also possesses that remarkable interest and captivating nature that you associate with a Hitchcock film. Again, the performance of Tippi Hedren was excellent, despite her ongoing row with Mr Hitchcock. The story is both believable and suspending. Alfred Hitchcock is "The Master of Suspense".

If you are a Hitchcock fan or not, you must watch this. This proves to be one of the best of the Hitchcock Collection.

I award this film 10/10. I love it and so will you.

Grey Gardens (1975)
10/10
This is just a very interesting film!
11 February 2000
Why should you watch this? There are certainly no reasons why you shouldn't watch it! Superbly and amusingly directed by Albert and David Maysles, Grey Gardens was originally intended to be a film on the gentrification of East Hampton, but it turned out to the brothers that it would be more interesting to produce a study on the eccentric life of the two Edith Bouvier Beales, the aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Their life was certainly an amusing one (Edith spent most of her day in bed singing operas, Edie performing pirouettes and majorette dances with their many cats, one was named Ted Z. Kennedy) The film is interesting because it is both funny and sad - Edith died shortly after the film was released (in February 1977) aged 82 after experiencing some of the fame that she and Edie received after the film (she danced and sang in a nightclub Edie Beale Jr was born in 1925 and is still living in Miami Beach. This film is both engaging and spellbounding.
