Madman (1978)

Interesting, if at least for young stars
18 June 2001
I am a huge fan of Sigourney Weaver, I have been since the 4th grade when I saw Alien. I've seen all her movies and own them all too, on VHS and all available DVD formats. Well, Madman is about what I expected. It's not much to watch and Sigourney's part is not all that big. None of the plot seems to fit and I have no idea what was going on, but Weaver looks great. This was right after Annie Hall and right before Alien, so I guess she got a chance to get her feet wet. If you like F. Murray Abraham or Sigourney, it'd be the only reason to watch or own.

Sigourney Weaver - FUNNY
29 May 2001
I really do not understand all the bad film reviews. This movie is actually very funny. I have waited to see it for a while for I am a big fan of Sigourney Weaver. I was not happy to hear of how bad it supposedly was, but itis very funny! It is just like a classic Woody Allen film. Sigourney was hilarious. If you liked her at all in Heartbreakers, Galaxy Quest, or Working Girl, you'd like her in this.

Heartbreakers (2001)

Well, I have been waiting forever to see this film, simple because I am a die hard Sigourney Weaver fan. After seeing it, I am extremely pleased.. Sigourney looks absolutely gorgeous, and she is 51 years old. Jennifer Love Hewitt has nothing on Weaver with beauty or actin ability. This is not saying JLH was bad, in fact I enjoyed her in this film. She has a very nice body, and I do find her attractive, but Sigourney is more beautiful. Gene Hackman was hilarious, as was Ray Liotta, and Jason Lee was funny too. Anne Bancroft provides a great ending to the film, and Sigourney's Russian rendition of Back to the U.S.S.R. is a gut buster. Anyone who did not enjoy this movie is just anal, and if you ind you didn't laugh, you either have a grudge against a cast member, or you need treatment. So all you people who hated it, well, I'm sorry to say but there really is something seriously problematic buried within that psyche. Or you just have the IQ of a 13 year old.

Hilarious

Miss Congeniality was so much more than I expected. Sandra Bullock's last few movies I have found to be rather tepid and childish. I absolutely hated "Practical Magic" and "Forces Of Nature." I haven't bothered to see "Gun Shy" and "28 Days" didn't seem to appealing, though after seeing this I plan to go rent it. I think Ms. Bullock is extremely talented, and after her last few films I almost thought she was becoming another Julia Roberts, whom I absolutely hate. Ms. Roberts had her own fluke hits like "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "Conspiracy Theory" but she generally always plays the same thing. Anyhow, Ms. Bullock is more attractive and talented. Her Golden Globe nomination is well deserved. Michael Caine was very funny (when isn't he when he's trying?) and Benjamin Bratt makes a better couple with Sandra then real life Julia. Candace Bergen was funny too, and it's good to see her acting again. Let's hope the rumors are true that she's going to star with Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray. & Harvey Keitel in the upcoming mobster comedy "Wedding Contract." No one could ever hold a light to the likes of Ms. Weaver (getting off track again) but anyhow, I enjoyed this film, and if you have a sense of humor, you might too. Not to be judgmental, but if you like "Runaway Bride" or "Notting Hill" better with the clunky dialogue and the extremely bad acting, you need help.

Touching performances
17 June 2000
I rented Man On The Moon the other night, and not because I like Andy Kaufman. I'm only 15 so I hardly ever saw who he was. But, that's beside the point. I came away from the movie in awe. This is the 3rd movie from 1999 that left me feeling that the acting was perpetually classic. (The other performances being Sigourney Weaver in "A Map Of The World" and Kevin Spacey & Annette Bening in "American Beauty")Jim Carrey was simply wonderful in this film. I usually don't like Courtney Love, but after this film I do. The funeral scene at the end was simply genious, and Jim Carrey has never acted better. What p***es me off is that the Academy Awards couldn't even recognize him by at least giving him a nomination. Kevin Spacey was good too, but why didn't Carrey get a nom? He won a Golden Globe, which is great in itself. I'm beginning to like the Globes better anyway. They nominated Ms. Weaver for "Map" while Oscar didn't. Jim Carrey was excellent and I just want to say that and recommend this film to any who think about renting it.

Wonderful, excellent, exhilirating Sigourney is magnificent
7 February 2000
I saw this movie just recently and have been waiting too forever. Sigourney Weaver is my favorite actress and I have to say I was blown away. This movie is her best and she deserves an Academy. Go see it, and if you can't rent it when the time comes. You will not forget it. Sigourney Weaver deserves the Academy this year. Wonderful film. The best perhaps I've ever seen.
