Killer Force (1976)
Great action- "Killer" movie!
This is one of the 70s better and most under rated thrillers of that era! It has a fantastic sound track by the maestro, Georges Garvarentz, an intriguing cast (Telly Savalas, Peter Fonda, Hugh O'Brian, O. J. Simpson, Maud Adams and Christopher Lee- the latter two are both excellent in this film!). It's a very thrilling experience, and one I did not forget in a hurry! 10/ 10!!!! AA+++
La frusta e il corpo (1963)
Rubbish! Bava's master rubbish
This has got to be the worst film I've ever seen! Christopher Lee is terrible and wooden in it, the freakish looking Daliah Lavi can't act to save herself, and it's just awful. Christopher Lee plays a nobleman whose love interest commits suicide. He sent away. The person he is arranged to be married to by his father (Daliah Lavi, the fiancee if you're confused). Annoyed he has lost his title, he starts revenge on the family- first by tormenting his brothers wife. He whips her then kisses her, tormenting her as she tries to get away. She later kills him for beating her and kissing her. She then imagines out of guilt that he comes back to whip- because it turns out she likes it! Cunning thing, you may think. In one last attempt to get rid of him, she accidently kills her self. Stupid, uh? Not even mildly erotic or titilating- Lavi is the most unconvincing and wooden piece of trash I've ever seen on screen! It's a pity the woman who was Christopher Lee's character, Kurt Menlif's,lover Tanya never appeared in it. I guess he loved her and was cheesed off that she killed her self, then dad comes along and says, "You'll marry my lover, Nevenka!" Anyway, Lee was terrible and everyone else was worse. Bava was certainly no director- pity I can't rate in -10 out of 10.
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)
Who said it was bad?
Who said it was bad? People don't like the slapstick in it but it's the same as any other James Bond film. Comedy, action, suave & dashing villains, beautiful women and our hero. I think Christopher Lee IS the best Bond villain. Not just saying that because he's my favorite actor, but it's definitely his best role- good points: he gets to smile, tell jokes, have normal K9 teeth, gets a beautiful girlfriend, he charms you and scares you (okay, so I was little when I first saw it!!!). But he kills Maud Adams! Anyone who knows me can confirm that this nearly traumatized me (!). I think she should have been a villainess but I think they just added her character in as a plot device. Shame, because when (apart from some early Hammer films) did Christopher Lee get the girl.
Anyway, it's light hearted, if it were close to reality we'd hate 007! It's got comedy, action, romance, the performances are good. I know they're just Bond films but I think it helps if the actors are adequate. I hope there are people who share similar opinions, but we're all different!
Watch this film, and you will not be disappointed. It's what made me a James Bond 007 fan!

The Pirates of Blood River (1962)
Different
Different to what you might expect from the Hammer studios. It's better than "The Devil Ship Pirates", anyway. Christopher Lee is, as usual, brilliant as Captain La Roche (yes, I think they made up that name, too), speaking in very convincing French accent. It's fun, good for the family and Hammer fans. Watch out for Kerwin Matthews as the hero (would you believe!)- he's convincing hero.
Octopussy (1983)
What a year!
Number 13, and number 6 for Roger Moore (my favorite 007). What a year! It was released at the same time as a rival company released "Never Say Never Again." It's a great film. Humor, excitement- of course!! Wouldn't be a Bond film otherwise. More trivia: Maud Adams played Christopher Lee's girlfriend in the Bond film "The Man With The Golden Gun", a couple of years later they joined up in "Killer Force" (aka "Diamond Mercenaries"). She was in fact in 3 Roger Moore/ Bond 'epics'. "The Man With The Golden Gun" as Andrea, this one as Octopussy and apparently she has a 'walk- on' in "A View To A Kill." She was busy! Well, she is a fine actress and if you like all the other 007s, you'll love this one.
Rollerball (1975)
The future is scary.
This is quite easily one of my favorite films of all time. The future is real scary if this is what people imagine it to be! People often forget it's not about the future of sports, it's a comment on everything becoming an industry. About living under a huge set of rules. But people don't know this- their provided with food, wealth, pleasure, anything they want and because they're satisfied they think they're free and living in a world where they can do or be what they want. It's very clever. We think at one point the thing that will redeem James Caan is if his wife, Maud Adams, comes back to him. She does but nothing has she changed. She admits, her life is misery (her current husband has a 'lover') but she gets on with it because of the system under which they live in- they think they're being satisfied.
It's brilliant. Maud Adams and James Caan are great, and watch out for an appearance by the wonderful Ralph Richardson.
Tattoo (1981)
Don't be mislead.
I think people are too hard on this film. It's one of my favourites. Maud Adams turned out to be a wonderful actress (have you noticed people seem to be nasty about models turned actresses if they're any good?). As for Bruce Dern.... WOW! He's great too! It's much like "The Collector" in the sense that he kidnaps her out of obsession, perhaps convincing himself it's love- being a lonely character in it.Don't be mislead, it's a good film. It's not perverted in anyway. It's known by people who've read about it that he tattoos her (probably how it gets it's title!), true, but people forget that she is attracted to the idea, denying it to herself though, which provokes his attack- probably. Well, that's my opinion and Maud Adams is my favourite actress. In my 'crazy' mind she's the best actress to have come from the James Bond films ("The Man With The Golden Gun" and "Octopussy", as Andrea Anders and Octopussy respectively). Try to watch and don't be led into thinking it's a 'sleazy' film because it's not. It's a marvellous film!!
