I am a big..big fan of the original Gettysburg..and a civil war buff.....I am not sure what happened but it seems like it was made by "Confederate lovers of America".....incredibly one-sided....cheesy preachy dialog... and laughable scenes of Sonewall Jackson praying with his slave to end slavery,(sure that happened!!!!)....and his slaves lying to Northern soldiers to keep their property from being looted....Was is really a war between with greedy North...and the Christian, righteous, glorious South??

the original Gettysburg was fascinating with equal time to both North and South....Why not at least one shot with Lincoln??? Would that shift too much sympathy to the North??

.while "Gods" missed this opportunity showing about 80% of the South.......Did we really have to Christmas with the Lees??

Even the music is a big step down from Gettysburg..

It really deserved its critical drubbing and box office failure....

I always have had the theory you see bad movies in the theater to appreciate good ones but what a waste of time and money.. Did anyone in the studio think maybe this was bad. There are so many horrible things to mention.

The opening sequence is so cheesy. Would anyone really allow a husband and wife team to fly together?? It had more laughs than any comedy I`ve seen this year. No other review mentions the terrible music score. Ennio Morricone has worked effectively on DePalma`s other films but his score for "Mission sounds" like a cross between a 60`s sci-fi movie and a slasher film. The editing is so jumpy there is no sense of continuity. The end looks like a cheap rip-off of Close Encounters and the Abyss.

I was so bored I noticed the patches on the uniforms have the emblem "Mars Rescue." The rescue I believe originated on a space island. Did they really send down to earth and have special patches made for their uniforms????

I think this easily DePalma`s worst film and yes it was worse than Bonfire of the Vanities.

It`s on my most watched list for many reasons. The wonderful montage at the shopping mall and the beach. The clever feel of the movie. The villains and main characters motivation throughout the movie. The scene of Jake and Holly embracing edited with an earlier scene of Jake and Deborah embracing. It has a wonderful "feel" to it. I definitely like DePalma`s style. I thought Craig Wasson did a good job. He hasn`t been in a movie in a long time. Melanie Griffith did a good job. The porn dialogue is hilarious.

It`s definitely not an audience pleaser but my Japanese wife liked it.

It was a real pleasure to watch.

I think it`s the best of the Brosnan Bond films, that`s not really saying much.... But again like every James Bond film it goes on and on and on.....It could have been cut by 30 minutes no problem. MY big comment is the casting of Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones.. A nuclear scientist, what a joke!!! What a terrible actress!!! The director seemed focused on shooting her in a wet halter top... It only added to my laughter. Denise Richards recently won worst supporting actress in the Razzies.. An award she deserved..

Alien 3 is a sequel that has bothered me for years. I had the pleasure of recently voting it as one of the worst movies of the last 100 years. It really irritated me for the following reasons: (This review is a comment to those who have already seen the movie)

I swear the writers of Alien 3 never saw the first two movies or at least forgot them. Where did the "face hugger" come from in the shuttle?? It`s obvious in the first two movies that the "face huggers" impregnate their victims and die but in Alien 3 it impregnates Ripley and the dog... Why did it seems to take a week for the Alien to explode from Ripley while in the first movie it took about an hour??? How did Ripley know she had a "Queen" Alien in her????

I also think the point of the first 2 movies was Ripley was a survivor.We know she is going to die about 1/3 the way through the movie. This destroyed all the suspense!!!!!!

I also think the Alien looked really fake!!!! The use of computer effects didn`t work...
