An opinion piece on a movie is just that, an opinion of one person. But I would implore all of you to take this opinion to heart.

Do not go see Epic Movie. I just wasted like 9 bucks on a ticket to see a really lame movie. I am serious, Epic Movie is a really bad movie.

The cinematography is fine. The acting is fine. The editing is fine. The costumes are good. The scenery and props are great. For all intents and purposes, Epic Movie is made perfectly. HOWEVER, it is the jokes or rather the lack of them that makes Epic Movie really bad.

The film is a spoof of other films, which in and of itself is not a bad thing. But what makes it a bad thing is the fact that of the jokes, I'd say about 85%-90% of the jokes (jokes being the things that are supposed to make you laugh) are just slapstick. I'm not exaggerating here. There is no "intellectual" humor at all, in other words, there are no jokes that require any amount of thought. Just slapstick and spoof is all you'll see.

Please do not go see Epic Movie. It really is that bad. If you do go and see it, consider yourself warned.

This is an adorable little flick. The simple truth is that I have seen this one over and over again, I never tire of it. I would recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a top notch B movie. Warning, movie watchers who have problems with enjoying simple movies which have no serious 'change the world for the better' messages will not like it. If, however, you want to see terrific acting and a wonderful script, pick this one up as soon as you can.
