A solid 10. You'll thank me later.
8 December 2023
While I always believed that the show Monk was worthy of a television movie, I was skeptical that one could be made that would be good enough for fans. The series finale was phenomenal and sometimes less is more. While on its own, I would only rate this movie a 6 or 7. It has its flaws and plot holes to be sure, but it is a solid 10 for Monk fans and after all, that is who it was made for! Off hand, I would say that they checked off all the boxes. It is near impossible to get everything you want into an hour and a half movie but it still leaves things open for another possible movie down the road.

The PC version of Gran Torino
17 November 2023
Others have stated this is already an adaptation of a better Swedish film which I have not seen but having watched the film there is no doubt the similarities between A Man Called Otto and Gran Torino are most notable with the biggest difference is they chose the well known and always likeable Tom Hanks for the lead rather than the more rugged Clint Eastwood and essentially made it politically correct for a wider appeal but less likeable film in my opinion. The film is ok and worth watching but lack both any residual value (I would not watch it again) and lacks any real originality. A trademark of 90% of what is coming out of Hollywood nowadays.

Third times the charm

Finally the Psych movie that fans have been waiting for! Funny & witty right from the get go and a hilarious ending as well. There are many touching moments as well. Fans of Woody may feel robbed as his part in this film is short but it doesn't disappoint. Quintessential Psych!

Like most LMS fans, I think we can all agree the 3 years on FOX were just not on par with the 6 years prior on ABC. Yes there were the changes with actors; the addition of Jen, the lack of Eve in most episodes and having to recast Mandy. All of things certainly contributed to the lackluster episodes during the FOX years, most especially the last season but what it really came down to in my opinion was the sub par writing. There were episodes that really made me question how all of the people associated with this 22 minute sitcom could be paid millions. I'm quite certain that die hard fans could have written better episodes. One would have assumed that with the effort it took to get the show back on the air and all the talk have having "a lot more left in the tank" there would have been better storylines, unchartered territory and certain more creative ideas. This show will always hold a special place in my heart and I was pleased the show was picked up by FOX but unfortunately I don't believe it fulfilled it's potential at the end and instead of going out with a bang it simply walked to the finish line with what appeared to be a hastily written finale . But I will let Mike Baxter have the final word; "A throwback to simpler, happier time." The show, not the truck :)

Triple Survival
11 August 2018
This show is more entertainment than instructional but the guys have great chemistry and each brings something unique to the party. Fans of David Canterbury will note that this is a somewhat different Dave from the show Dual Survival. For both season of Dual Survival, Dave was cast as the "military trained" woodsman and Cody Lundin was the Primitive Skills expert but it seems a lot of Cody rubbed off on Dave. Here Dave sports a ponytail and there is NO mention of his military days and is in fact the "Primitive Skills" expert of the trio. It's Dick Strawbridge that is touted as the military trained engineer who is a retired Colonel from the British Army. John Littlefield rounds out the group as the "builder". A homebuilder by trade with some Hollywood acting under his tool belt as well. My only complaint would be the intentional deception on the creators of this show to have us believe that the guys are traveling these distances over the routes shown. Based on known filming locations of a few episodes like Jersey Devils and Desert Express it is clear that the only traveling done was likely just what was shown. Whether acted, scripted, edited or genuine, the three guys get along great and make for some entertaining guy TV with a good combination of humor and competition.
