The Funniest Movie of All-Time
17 June 2001
To start, this is HILARIOUS. Although some of the jokes may be grotesque and stupid, you can't help but crack up. Jim Carrey's rubber-like face is funny on its own, but add great jokes and it's perfect. The acting is mediocre, and the story is...well...basically just put there to carry along the jokes.

This is the ultimate highlight of Jim Carrey's career, and his funniest. This is the funniest movie of all-time, with "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" in a close second.

Charming and Fairly Witty
17 June 2001
I loved this movie when I first saw it. I still like it a lot, but nowhere near as much as I used to. The comedy and cute little spaceship thingies is what drew me into "*Batteries Not Included." This is like "E.T." in a more cute and cuddly way. In this nice family flick, elderly inhabitants of an apartment find small spaceship-looking creatures in their home, but the secret can't be kept for long. Punks are forcing people out of their apartments, including our main stars. Can they keep their place for long? "Dun dun...." If you like funny family films or are looking for a flick to keep your kids entertained, this will work for you. But if you are a fan of "E.T." and expect the exact same here (I don't like the flick, but I understand its so-called "superiority"), look elsewhere.

Can I Hear Ghostbusters 3?
12 June 2001
I saw "Evolution" on June 9, its second day of being out. I had been wanting too see it ever since February because of one little thing: "Ghostbusters," my all-time favorite movie. And "Evolution" pleased me. I can see "Ghostbusters" re-incarnated in this movie throughout the whole thing. The similarities: Ivan Reitman directs it, Dan Aykroyd plays in it, average people trying to save the world, and an otherworldly creature infestation. Now that "Evolution" is becoming a hit and getting fairly decent reviews, I can pretty much say that the next thing good 'ol Ivan comes out with will be "Ghostbusters III." Ivan and Dan are shouting into Sony's faces "The premise still works! The comedy still works! If you won't let us do 'Ghostbusters III,' we'll just haunt you with a thousand versions of 'Ghostbusters'! But they'll all have different casts and monsters!" with the coming of "Evolution."

Now all we need is an "Evolution 2" for summer 2003. This time with Bill Murray and Harold Ramis.

Gremlins (1984)
10/10
Twisted and Demented
14 November 2000
Warning: Spoilers
"Gremlins" is a strange, disgusting, twisted, demented, bizarre, funny, and violence-packed comedy. See what they can fit into an hour and a half? "Gremlins" is a down-right genuine classic. It's all about an inventor dad who buys a fuzzy-wuzzy creature for his son that will make you say, "Can I have one?". But after the first half-hour, you say, "I never want one of those things!" Why? (WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILER!) Because the three rules that were supposed to be followed are accidentally broken, and more fuzzy creatures pop up and then later turn into despicable and gruesome monsters.

You'll get more laughs than you expected were in such a violent movie. I hope that you love this movie as much as I did and still do. 10/10

The Beverly Hillbillies (1962–1971)
One of the Best Television Shows
14 November 2000
"The Beverly Hillbillies". Just the title alone can tell you that it is going to make you laugh your cowboy hat off. Well, the show does just that to you (if you have a cowboy hat, that is!). Granny and her tonic, Jethro and Jethrine, and a great cast. You will love this show, if you don't already love it. Try to watch it whenever you can! It's a genuine classic!

If you can't get a big enough heapin' helpin' of their hospitality, try "The Beverly Hillbillies" movie. In my opinion, it's even better!

Better Than the Television Series
13 November 2000
I saw "The Beverly Hillbillies" for the first time a couple of days ago, as I love the old show. I looked at the video jacket and thought, "Yeah, yeah, these guys look nothing like the original Hillbillies (except Cloris Leachman who is an exact duplicate of Granny). Can they be good? Maybe....". Good thing I watched it, instead of judging it just by the jacket! I loved it! I thought that it was so funny! All of the players give better performances than the old cast. But don't get me wrong, the old cast was GREAT! But these guys are even BETTER!

The plot... Been there, done that. But with a lot more laughs and an unexpected plot twist, we have our final product: A fabulous movie. The only parts that may not be funny are the jokes within about the first 10 or 12 (maybe a bit more) minutes. That's only two jokes, but the rest will have you laughing. Don't pass it up! Just listen to the man who sings the song: "Come 'n listen to my story of a man named Jed...". Go listen to his story! 10/10

Come on
17 October 2000
Come on, movies can get better than this! Is this all the stuff that Hollywood can come up with? I don't know why everybody says that this is a really great movie. I used to like it, but now I think of it as BORING. I enjoy the special effects, but I just don't care for this movie. The story line is okay, I suppose, but could get better. The music is good, but not enough action and adventure. When you go see a movie like this, you expect to see a LOT of action. The great action scenes that this movie had were dumb, I think. See the last two movies for some REALLY GOOD ENTERTAINMENT. As for this, skip it. 4/10

Jurassic Park (1993)
10/10
One of the Best Movie Ever Made
16 October 2000
Warning: Spoilers
WARNING: SPOILERS!!!!!!! "Jurassic Park" is about a man who re-creates dinosaurs on an island in Costa Rica, and invites a paleontologist, paleobotanist, and a mathematician to test the park out before it opens. During the tour, the power goes out because a worker at the park shuts off most of the power to steal dinosaur embryos to bring back to his boss so that they can make dinosaurs. Chaos ensues from that point on. The T-Rex breaks loose from his fencing and almost kills the mathematician (whose name in the movie is Ian Malcolm), eats a lawyer (whose name is Donald Gennaro), almost eats the paleontoligist (Alan Grant) and the two children (Alexis or Lex Murphy and Timothy or Tim Murphy), and almost eats the paleobotanist (Ellie Satler), the game warden (Robert Muldoon), and Ian Malcolm (again!). And a lot more happens.

The special effects look almost exactly what dinosaurs would look like today, which is mostly the reason why I went to go see it originally. The action is breath-taking, and the suspense will just KILL you! This movie is incredibly well-made, and in my book, the third best movie ever made. A must-see! 10/10

The Sequel That Didn't Have to Be
15 October 2000
This movie just DIDN'T have to be made! The first Jurassic Park movie was great, and this sequel tried as best as sequels can (which isn't very much) to be better than the original, but failed. There is no better dinosaur movie than Jurassic Park, and the movie makers shouldn't have even tried to top such a wonderful masterpiece. The effects were somewhat better than the original (the T-Rex looks more realistic). I don't know why they had to change the Raptors' colors! I myself think that green suited the Velociraptors better than orange and white. I know that I've gone on and on about how this movie isn't better, it didn't have to be made, and more, but this movie was decent. I hope that Jurassic Park III lives up to the original, unlike this sequel. 7/10

COWABUNGA!
14 October 2000
This right here started the cartoon, and is a definite favorite of mine in the cartoon world. Five-foot talking turtles trying to defeat an Oriental villain named Shredder and a brain from Dimension X named Krang, who live in the Technodrome. Sound silly? Well, I just realized that whenever someone wants to give a summary of the TMNT, it sounds like pure stupidity. But TMNT has that magic in it that makes it SO much better than what it sounds like. This mini-series is action-packed, funny, and is sure to please kids (and even grown-ups). So watch this and experience the magic of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!

The Best Movie Ever Made...
14 October 2000
In my comment about the movie "Ghostbusters", I said that it was the best movie ever made. That's true. But this one is also the best movie ever made. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. When you look at the name just right, it'll crack you up (at least it cracks me up...). I saw this movie on accident. It was on TV, and I just happened to be watching the channel that was showing this masterpiece. I love this movie, and every time I watch it, it seems that I notice something new. There are always surprises lurking around every corner in movies. How can you NOT like this movie? It's funny, it's action-packed, and it's got a plot. Yes, IT ACTUALLY HAS A PLOT, unlike many other movies based on children's crazes (had the comic book not been made, the plot wouldn't be there). I think that anybody could find at least a bit of enjoyment in this movie. So, give this movie a try. I give it a 10 out of 10, if that'll up the chances of seeing it!

Prehysteria! 2 (1994 Video)
Good, But Not as Good as the Original
17 August 2000
This movie could've been better. It was kind of dumb to have a different boy take care of the dinosaurs, keeping the same boy could have led to a better movie. It was nice to see the dinosaurs again, though. This movie had more laughs than the first one, but in my opinion, it still wasn't as good. It definitely wasn't as charming. But it was still good, and it's enjoyable for someone who liked the first one.

Great Movie
17 August 2000
People can say that this was a bad movie, but I completely disagree. I thought that it was cute, although the dinosaur effects could've been better (ever see Jurassic Park?). Well, they wanted the movie to be cute and seem harmless, so they couldn't give the same vicious effects as "Jurassic Park". This movie is great, if you like animal movies (with dogs or cats) you might not like this movie, but if you like family-oriented comedies and dinosaurs, you might like it. I liked it, and I hope that somebody else does too.

The Best Movie Ever Made
17 August 2000
This movie is definitely the best movie of all-time, better than any other to ever be released. The song "Ghostbusters" is the greatest song to ever hit the movies (or anything else)! When I finally got my hands on the DVD, I was so happy to see the cut scenes, the story boards, and the old cast talking about the movie all these years later. If you've never seen this movie, then you've never seen the best movie of all-time. You've got to see it right now. BUSTIN' MAKES ME FEEL GOOD!!!

Ghostbusters (1986–1987)
This Show is Terrible
16 August 2000
When I bought a video of one of the episodes, I was expecting it to be good, I had never heard of it before. I buy everything with the name "GHOSTBUSTERS" on it, it's my favorite movie. I just wasn't thinking. I wasted some money right there. Although this show can be interesting at sometimes, it still isn't as good as "The Real Ghostbusters". My recommendation is not to see this, as it will disappoint any "Ghostbusters" fan looking for a good show.

Men in Black (1997)

One of My Favorite Movies of All-Time
16 August 2000
"Men in Black" is one of those movies that we're thankful it was made. It definitely wouldn't get made based on the popularity of the comic books, there were only 6 comics in total that were made (except for the 3 comics that either were based on the movie or were one-shots).I never even knew that it was originally a comic book series until after I saw the movie. This movie is funny and, at some points, action-packed. This is the best Will Smith movie out there, this a great movie to see if you like Tommy Lee Jones or Will Smith. This is a great movie even if you don't like the two. I give this movie a 10 out of 10. You may disagree, but I thought that this movie was fabulous.

Space Cowboys (2000)

The Best Movie of 2000
15 August 2000
I just saw this movie yesterday, and I was very tired when I went to go see it. I wanted to go to sleep during the movie...but I found that I just couldn't. It was too good of a movie. Sure, "X-Men" had you riveted and excited, but "Space Cowboys" had you holding your sides with laughter. This is the funniest and the best movie of 2000. It didn't have any hype before it came out, but then again, it wasn't based on anything. Maybe original movies are better than comic book movies, because for comic book movies, you've "been there, done that".

Better Than The Original
12 August 2000
This movie is better than the original Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy, but it is much nastier. This should've been given an R rating, but then again, R movies are getting a lot nastier every year it seems. Most of the funny parts come from the nastiness, but sometimes this movie can be quite charming. If you liked the original, then I reccomend going to see this movie. It's funny, but is directly aimed for adults, which is most obvious.

Nutty Professor Is A Funny, Funny Movie
12 August 2000
When I was about to put the video of this movie in, I was thinking that this would be another one of those funny movies, but nothing more. I was wrong! This is probably the one of the best Eddie Murphy movies that I've ever seen. The acting is great, especially on Eddie Murphy's part. It's amazing that he plays the entire Klump family (except for the little boy)! I deeply recommend seeing this movie. If you love Eddie Murphy and can't get enough of him, this is the movie for you!

Great and spectacular- a sci-fi great
1 August 2000
Someone who is a fan of modern-day alien flicks and of bloody and gory alien comic books, may watch this film and say: "What a waste of time!" But that is because they don't look at it the right way. You should think of this as a 50s movie, because it is. Imagine you're in the 50s, watching this for the first time. You will turn off the TV after watching it and say: "Wow, that was a great movie." Hey, I did. This movie is great and spectacular- a sci-fi GREAT.

NASCAR Racers (1999–2001)
NASCAR Racers captures racing drama, but has some flaws
31 July 2000
NASCAR Racers is a great show, capturing the drama of racing and has some great action. The show has high-tech cars, much unlike our present racing cars. The cars can fly, shed the outer body, and a flying machine is left after the outer body sheds. Oh, I forgot, they're computer animated. That's where the flaws come in. The cars look great in their computer animated style, but when the pencil animation comes in contact with the computer animation, it looks so cheesy. For example, on the "NASCAR Racers: The Movie" (the premiere of the show), when Sunts runs on top of Charger's car, it looks as if he's floating above the car in a cheesy version of "Star Wars". But, all in all, this show is great. It shouldn't be missed by NASCAR fans and action fans.

X-citement on the big screen!
19 July 2000
Finally! The long awaited X-Men movie is here! I saw the movie on Monday, and it was a lot better than I expected. I was expecting it to be great, but it was even greater. With dazzling special effects and a great storyline, this movie is the best of 2000! Hugh Jackman did a great job as playing Wolverine, and Anna Paquin did a pretty good job playing Rouge. Patrick Stewart was great as Professor Charles Xavier, and Halle Berry was unexpectedly (to me, anyways) great as Storm. I have been waiting for this movie for a while. Maybe even over a year. But for the last couple of months, I've been reading magazines with info on the movie, and just sinking my teeth into them. This movie is a must see for all X-Men fans, and even for people who have never read the comic books.

Computer Generated and Proud of it!
8 July 2000
I just saw "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle" the movie yesterday, and I thought it was great. Rocky and Bullwinkle are looking better than ever, completely computer generated. The movie is hilarious, and with more action than any the cartoons ever had. This movie definitely is one of the best done films I have ever seen, although it can be quite goofy at times (hey, it's Bullwinkle, what did you expect?). For people who haven't seen this, you should.

The Zaniest Comedy Ever
6 July 2000
Clue is probably one of the wackiest films ever made, based on the murder-mystery board game. I have to say, I always have a blast watching Clue. It has great acting talent in it, featuring such actors as Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future). Although the movie repeats itself (Wadsworth acts the night out), the second time's even funnier. Don't miss this spectacular film. If you've got a clue, you'll watch Clue. If you don't have a clue, you'll probably end up watching some documentary about snails on TV. Clue's a lot more fun.
