Hulk (2003)
The word PATHETIC comes to mind.......
This movie is the pits. I thought the CGI would save it but I was wrong! I have discovered WHY they call him the MINDLESS HULK and its not because he smashes stuff. I have never given a minus rating before but this movie almost made me go there. I will instead give it a ZERO and that is being kind!
Set It Off (1996)
Get thee to a store and rent or BUY it!!!!
This is one of those see it to believe it movies. Anyone who can sit down and harp on about acting, script blah blah blah really needs to GET A LIFE!!!
Get this movie out, grab some popcorn and just WATCH IT.
If you believe any of the negative reviews about this film and decide not to view it, it is YOUR LOSS!
The music is great the actresses are beautiful and awesome and it is refreshing to see four african american women hold their own in what turns out to be a tragic but inevitable ending for the foursome.
Don't let others turn you off a movie that is well worth watching for the pure adrenalin rush it gives you when the girls decide to take their destiny into their own hands and GO FOR IT, whatever the consequences and believe me their ARE consequences.
10/10 rating from me just for the pure rocking enjoyment of see chicks with attitude.
Thank God It's Friday (1978)
Just watch it to see Donna Summer sing Last Dance. Awesome.
Donna Summer re-launching her career back then and becoming the undisputed "Disco Queen" of the 70's. Seeing some young faces of some actors of today is also a good reason to get it out, like Geoff (Jeff?) Goldblum from Jurrassic Park 1 and 2. Standout has to be Donna Summer as Nicole when she sings Last dance and gets everyone rocking.
Dark Angel (2000)
Quit the Buffy vs Dark Angel riff.
I am so sick and tired of people going on about what a great actress Sarah Michelle Geller is!!! Sarah wasn't that great in the first two seasons of Buffy so give me a break!
The first season of Buffy put me off the show, and I didn't begin watching it until the end of the fourth season because Gellers acting was so bad at the beginning, and so were the scripts. On Buffy for the first season it was beat a new bad guy up every episode and it got boring real fast. There were to many cast members and you didn't know who was doing what.
Jessica Alba may not be the best actress but she sure did a hell of a lot better in the two seasons she starred in with Dark Angel than the first two seasons of Buffy.
Because Dark Angel got canned was the reason the writers had to rush through all the story lines and tie them up so fast. You don't have to be an X series brain to figure that out.
Compare the first two seasons of Buffy to Dark Angel and you will see that Dark Angel wins Hands down.
Buffy however after seasons five and six is the better show especially after the Glory storyline. But give credit where it is due, Jessica had a hit and it is to the shame of the idiots that cancelled Dark Angel that we will not be able to see her grow on screen as Sarah has.
Peace.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
What Utter RUBBISH!!!
Anyone who thinks this movie was good needs to get some strong medication immediately.
This movie was so bad that this is my review.
YUCK!!!!
The makers of this movie will be laughing all the way to the bank when all the brainwashed Harry Potter fans flock to the theatres to be disappointed ONCE AGAIN!!!
I for one will not be wasting anymore money on ANY FUTURE Harry Potter movies. I will wait for it to come out on video so I can fast forward or turn it off when I like, which judging by the first two movies won't be long after it starts.
Harry Potter will be FORGOTTEN in the next 10 years thanks to these movies, Thank goodness for The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, A fantasy movie that even with one movie released has become a MASTERPIECE. Its a shame Peter Jackson didn't get the Harry Potter movies to do, looks like he is the ONLY director who understands how a fantasy movie SHOULD be made.

Riding in Cars with Boys (2001)
This movie is HILARIOUS!!!
Get a sense of humour you zealots who just like to go watch a movie just so you can complain about it. Why you go to the movies in the first place is beyond me, if all you can do is find ten thousand things wrong with it.
I thought the movie was hilarious and I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. When Drew was sliding down the stairs was a great moment and another was when she was with her best friend practising on the street about how to give her parents the news of her pregnancy. The reactions of the people on the sidewalk were brilliant. There were so many funny and real moments in this film I for one bought the DVD.
If people can't see the humour in this movie then I suggest they stop eating lemons before the movie starts, it will give you a whole new perspective on what comedy really is.
The only thing that irked me was the ending, IT CAME TO SOON!!!!
Queen of the Damned (2002)
The worst book to movie script EVER!!!
This movie used Anne Rice's name for the express reason of sucking fans of the book in to go see this pathetic movie. This is the worst adaptation of a book to a movie that I have ever seen and I will be thankful never to watch it again.
Why they even bothered to use the names of Anne Rice's vampires at all is beyond me. A blonde Armand (I had to read the credits to see who that vampire was). Pandora and Mael bursting into flame, are you serious? The movie was so far from the book that they should have named it something else like. "Vampire Woman Arises for all of 10 minutes".
I tried to watch it as a stand alone movie but Stuart Townsend was the most unconvincing vampire I have seen on screen, he didn't look like the uncaring, emotionally void Lestat at all he looked like he couldn't wait for his scenes to be over and his voice for the character was worse than his acting.
OMG, they turned it into a LOVE story. How pathetic trying to appeal to a teenage romance audience. The biggest farce after watching this on a borrowed friends DVD was listening to the comments of the directors/cast/whoever, trying to justify why there were so many changes (I borrowed it to specifically to listen what the director had to say for himself).
There just wasn't enough time to show this or that, was the biggest excuse. They dumped the TWINS!!! Why bother to do it at all if the story is completely different?
I know I won't be wasting anytime going to see another Michael Rymer movie after this debacle.
Spider-Man (2002)
This movie is rubbish!!!
Don't waste your money going to see this piece of rubbish. Once again hollywood has hyped up a movie that is a load of trash. The acting was terrible!!! Toby McGuire can't act to save himself, I was more sorry for myself sitting there having to watch his bad acting than anything he was trying to portray on the screen. The worst bit of the movie was every scene the green goblin was in!!! Action man at K-mart looks better than that green, plastic looking idiot. The effects were ok, but nothing to great to talk about and not on screen long enough to be interesting. The only good thing in the movie is Kirsten Dunst, at least she can act and saved the movie from reaching the all time low score of ZERO. My one point vote goes entirely to her. This movie must have been aimed at a 5 year olds audience, but mentally all you needed to watch this piece of haggis (cooked sheep intestines for those who don't know what haggis is) is rocks in your head. But wait theres more, hollywood will marvel at this piece of gut rot and probably give it the oscar for "movie of the year" anything can happen, a beautiful mind won over lord of the rings so spiderman must be up for best movie 2002, I know I won't bother to watch the academy awards if this movie gets even one nomination!!!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
I was stunned by the movie when I left the theatre.
If you have ever been in a dream that you just did not want to wake up from, this movie was IT!!! From the moment I saw Gandalf riding in his horse drawn cart, I was transported to Middle Earth. When I saw the map of the Lonely Mountain on the table at Bilbo Baggins hobbit hole, I was completely gone. I became mesmerized by every character that came on screen, in the shortest 3 hours of my life. The script changes from the book to the screen just flowed and even when the movie was over and I had a couple of days to digest them, I DIDN'T CARE. My imagination had been taken while I was sleeping, and Peter Jackson had made it into a movie. Emotionally the movie drained me and if Mr Jackson wasn't stopping your heart with the scenery and action, he was breaking it with the relationships of the nine companions. If I could add up all my vote points for all the movies I have voted for here in the past, I would give them all to "The Fellowship of The Ring". But I can not do that, as I will need some for the next two "Lord of The Rings" movies. I won't say that this is the best movie I will see in my lifetime, as I know twice more I will be transported to Middle Earth and although I know what happens in the end, it is the JOURNEY, that I will take that will make all the difference. Mr Peter Jackson, I read the LOTR's trilogy 20 years ago and twice more since, but you bought back a twelve year old boys imagination. I thankyou and can't wait for the "Two Towers" and "The Return Of The King".

The Godfather (1972)
Maybe if the horse head got some lines it would be more interesting...
Long and boring and not worth writing two sentences. But since I have to, long and boring and not worth writing two sentences, long and boring and not worth writing two sentences, long and boring and not worth writing two sentences, I think you get my point!
Wo hu cang long (2000)
Absolutely Beautiful
I loved this movie, and although I only speak English I always watch the movie with subtitles so I can listen to the beautiful Mandarin / Asian languages spoken in the movie. I was a little disappointed with the DVD because the sub titles were different to the movie versions subtitles which were beautifully written. A must in a DVD collection.

X-Men (2000)
Unbelievably Believable!
After being a collector of the Uncanny Xmen comics for 20 years, (picking up my first copy when I was 14) I can describe the first full length Xmen movie as "FANTASTIC"! I know that the events of the movie are different to the true origins of the Xmen but to try and condense the entire comic 25 year plus Xmen history with all its diverse characters into a 90 minute believable movie is impossible. Thankfully this movie has portrayed as closely to the origins as I think they possibly can with the characters that have been used. It was totally enthralling to see other comic book characters like Shadowcat, Iceman, Moonstar, Jubilee and was that Johnny Storm of the fantastic four (all in professor X's office when Wolverine bursts in), come to life and look positively "Human". I wait to get this movie on DVD.
