This show got worse every year after its second season. Ben Savage came off as a lovable and smart allecky kid, who learned a realistic lesson every episode. Along with his family and friends, the show seemed to provide good comedy and was able to fill any time slot.
Here's where it goes downhill...
Corey and his idiotic friend Shawn go through many stereotypical storylines. At one point Shawn joins a cult, to which many of us started to become embarassed about the fact that we watch this show. I stopped tuning in regularly around that time. However, a friend of mine continued to stay with the show. After spending too much time with them, I caught a few more episodes and saw the show decline even more.
The cast continued to get worse and worse, even intentionally ripping off movies such as "I know what you did last summer", and "The truman show", just to regain attention. The necessary ending of the series seemed rushed with an unrealistic relationship/marriage, and all the kids being in the same class, at the same college (wasn't topanga smart and wasn't shawn dumb??), being taught by guess who??? Thats right! Their same teacher from middle school! (Oh yeah, thats real realistic). The show became slapstick which took away from any acting ability that these people might have had in the past. Some try to compare it to the Wonder Years. First off, The wonder years had a much more realistic ending, and secondly it was original and had great dialogue. Boy Meets World simply died many years ago and tried to become save by the bell(Why would any show want to do that!?).
