The Dangerous (1995)
the family should always be honored, especially here.
I first saw this film when it came out in 1994. I was struck by the characters and the way the movie played out. I have been a fan of (I hate to call them this)"chop sake movies" but this brought back the reason I love movies of this genre. I agree the plot was predictable and the acting stiff, but overall I am fascinated by the way the film was shot. The actors have gone on to better parts but this one sticks in my mind, more than any movie of someone like Bruce Lee, or Mark Dacascos. I loved this film.
A Matter of Life and Death (1946)
fantastic what ever it is called
When I first saw this movie its title was A Stairway to Heaven. It took me years to find it. I didn't know the title had changed. To show how much I enjoyed this movie I have over 500 tapes in my tv room and only 2 black and white films. This is one and the other is the original Canterville ghost. It is a great movie to watch with the whole family which is hard to come by these days.
Bite the Bullet (1975)
WESTERN LOVERS DREAM
I will always miss a good western since John Wayne died. But this one helps. It works on your system like the movie Speed did when it first came out. It will have you cheering the good guys and booing the bad guys, which is what a good western was all about. The charactors are in their turn, funny, dumb, nasty, and heroic. I enjoyed this movie very much and if you want to see a good western plug this one into your vcr or dvd.
Hawk the Slayer (1980)
fantastic effort
For a fantasy movie they really tried to capture the feeling of a great book. One you get lost in because of the characters, except you get no background on anyone except the title character and his brother. I found it enchanting and a little funny despite the serious feeling it gave to the audience. When I wish to lose my self in a book but don't have one on hand I plug this tape in. I also liked the weird music, which tried to sound like a mix of irish and welsh folk songs. All in all I really enjoyed this movie dispite its shortcomings.
Seven (1979)
FANTASTIC
I just want to say that since 1979 when I first saw this movie I have been searching for it to buy. I loved everything about it at the time and still think the campy feel to it was what made me remember it so easily. I remembered the stars, the director, and the plot line. Very cheesy but if you love that in an older movie you will really like this. So if I ever find this movie be sure I will add it to my collection.
