Tim Robbins & Martin Lawrence at their best
18 December 2001
Where to start... This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time... okay there is The Shawshank Redemption, but as comedy is concerned, this film has it all. Tim Robbins is a master, and with Martin Lawrence they are just totally wicked together. Totally mismatched they find that they can be friends afterall... in the face of absurdity to some extent.

This film has everything, good plot, storyline, twists & turns, one liners... and is just so funny it makes me want to watch it over and over and over..and for instance over. <g>

The comedy is spot on, and I challenge anyone to watch it and not find something funny in it and it's one of the few films that makes me cry with laughter.

Mustn't go without mentioning the excellent music, and timing.. ie. Tim and the Skatman song (people who've watched the film will understand what I mean, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't yet).

Well I'd like to give it 20 out 10 but can't so it gets my full 10 points out of 10. If you haven't seen it yet.. go see it... you won't regret it.

Are there no limits?

This has got to be one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time. I'm giggling as I think about it, writing this.

The pairing of Tim with Martin was just so brilliant. Martin Lawrence is totally amazing in his own right but Tim Robbins steals it for me. The way they bounce off each other is awesome.

Without giving too much away to those who haven't seen it... I would love to have seen the out-takes especially for the scene after the spider. How did Tim keep a straight face? I know I couldn't.

If you're bored or feeling under the weather watch this film, it'll have you roaring with laughter.

Last thought.. Can Mr Robbins ever get more gorgeous? <g>

Is there no limits?

Is there no limit to this guys talents; actor, singer/songwriter, director and 6ft 5" of pure talent.

This is a fast action film which needs to be watched several times to see everything that's going on.

It's nice to see actors, not just Tim singing and not having someone dubbed over the top of them...

Tim is a genius or major proportions.. a legend.

The Saint (1997)
VAL KILMER AT HIS BEST
9 November 2000
As I'm not someone who is very familiar with the television show I'm guessing that it was a plus. The film was a complete entity without having to rely on the show of the same name.

The film itself was brilliant, granted as a Val Kilmer fan you could say that I might have been biased but not very often. There are a lot of his films I don't like. Anyway, it had a nice story with plenty of twists and turns. It was obvious from the moment he met Dr Russell that he would fall in love with her, although there was a bit too much kissing and sloppy stuff.

The best thing about the film I think was the many characters Val managed to do. He seems to be able to do so many, and not just in The Saint.. another one would be Tombstone. The man is a genius, in a league of his own.

Just a word of advice to anyone who's going to see it, don't go in there expecting it to be like the television show because you'll be disappointed.
