The Short History of the Long Road (2019)
A movie that touches your heart
I really loved Sabrina's acting here. She can do it, she can do drama real good. Hoping to see more from her in the future.
Dark (2017)
A masterpiece!
No need for a long text review, this show is a true work of art. Go watch it if you haven't yet.
Iron Man (2008)
The first and the best
No long explanations needed. The first MCU film will always be the best!
Captain Marvel (2019)
Another solid MCU film!
Alright this is coming from a true MCU fan and just your regular geek college student movie-goer.
Side note: HONESTLY, I don't get all the hate that's dwelling around the user reviews here in IMDB. I recognize that from a few of them, it's obvious that they haven't really watched the film and they just want to contribute to the hate train.
So yeah, just a short-ish review upon watching this film.
First of all, don't listen to the bashers of Brie Larson. There's no feminism/SJW bulls#!t being shoved down to your throat in this movie. Yes, the sense of feminism is there, but it's subtle. Just like in Wonder Woman, it's not the "third wave" type of feminism or the "men are trash" type of agenda.
Brie Larson performed exceptionally well in the film, albeit yes there are some dull moments in the middle parts of the film. BUT FOR ME, I get that she should really somehow do it like that because let's face it, Carol Danvers has no effing idea who she is in the early parts of the movie. If you are her, will you be the happy-go-lucky type of hero in such a situation, I wouldn't, especially when you realize that everything is effed up (can't really explain because I'll spoil the movie). So it makes sense to me. Despite that, there are still lots of parts where she was fun to watch, especially during the parts of her conversing and interacting with Fury and her Kree starforce squad. Overall, a solid performance by Brie Larson.
I would say the biggest letdown for me is the plot and writing. There's so much happening in the film that it might leave some questions unanswered for others after watching the film. In my case, I didn't and I understood everything. Maybe if you watched all the previous MCU films then you might be able to answer some of those questions because this film connects a lot of dots in relation to those previous MCU movies. The writing/script just has some few mishaps in some parts of the movies. Some are indeed cringey and some are indeed dull, but that doesn't take away the overall greatness of this movie.
The post credit scene/s? There are two, and boy oh boy you will really get hyped up once you've seen it.
The whole audience in my cinema cheered and clapped for the film after all the post credit scenes. The.hype.is.real.
Overall, a solid MCU film. I'd say it's in the middle in terms of ranking compared to the rest of the previously released MCU films. For me, Iron Man 2/Thor 2 is still worse for me honestly. I'd say it's equal to the Ant-Man films.
Solid 8/10
