Casablanca is not my favorite movie but I do think it's the best movie ever made. It is really such a defining work of art that perfectly encapsulates so much. It is visually stunning, with the light and shadow (and fog) making everything seem timeless and ethereal. The story is so powerful and the dialogue is excellent, brilliantly poignant and hilarious when it needs to be.

I don't know what else to say - it's such an important film. Everyone should watch it, even people who claim they don't like black and white films.

As has been noted, this whole season was overly scripted with elaborate all-season set ups for minor laughs. And too many things were introduced for the sole purpose of playing a minor role in the plot and just ended up looking forced. As always the characters make it a good enough show, but this season didn't do it for me. It died on the vine

This is a powerful film. It is also visually beautiful. A lot has been said about the single shot format and it's all true. The scenery and the imagery is incredible and you can feel the enormous size of the setting and the undertaking. There is really no reason not to see this film.

One thing to be said about this film is that it does not glorify war. It is not an anti-war film. But it seamlessly highlights the horror and absurdity of WWI. I think that is just as important as anything else. It highlights the honor of the soldiers and their personal struggles while not glorifying what was one of the greatest slaughters in history.

Another thing, the usage of wayfaring stranger was jarring. Wow

I absolutely recommend this film, to everyone.

As a disclaimer this is the first film adaption of the book I have seen and I have also never read the book. That being said, I found this to be a beautiful and emotionally stirring film. It dealt with love, romantic and familial, and looked at the ebb and flow of both. It is about a young person discovering who they are in a world they have trouble understanding. One of the best things I can say about a movie is that it left me thinking and affected me on a personal level. This one did that.

I also have to respond to some of the criticisms I see in these reviews. It's just strange to see people calling this movie boring. It's little women; what did you expect? If you don't like this type of movie then don't watch it. Don't expect it to be a thriller. As to the criticism that it is confusing: As someone who has never read any of the books, I had no trouble understanding the timeline. I think it was all very well done and there were sufficient context clues to keep it straight. And where it was not immediately clear, I believe it was intentional.

In conclusion, it is beautiful.

Perhaps my favorite episode- if I had to choose an episode to introduce someone to the series, I would use this one. It's thought-provoking and just incredibly grand.

When she sings 'you go to my head'... it's sublime. It's incredible. I love this show in general, but this may have been the very best.
