Violent Night (2022)
Dreadful
One of the worst films I ve seen in a while. Truly terrible. Terrible script, hammy acting, crass in the extreme.
It seems like it was written by eight year old boys judging by the level of sophistication.
The part where the seven year old describes killing two people (irrespective of the fact they are bad guys) as 'fun' is total cringe and the home alone references less reverential, much more lazy
It pains me to think this might end up being someone's Christmas movie.
Everyone involved with this production needs to be embarrassed about their involvement. I am embarrassed that I watched it till the end.
Truly awful, just awful.
Ted Lasso: Beard After Hours (2021)
WTF has happened to this show.
After an amazingly poignant moment in last weeks show, this. The first season was amazing, this time round really hit and miss, this episode a total miss, almost as bad as the Christmas episode. Awful. Better get better or I will have to give it up as a bad job.
Downton Abbey (2019)
Abysmal
Not surprised Maggie Smith near death, the sheer weight of carrying this lumpen turd of a script most have really taken it out of her.
Embarrassing exercise in money making, lacking any kind of artist integrity.
Eighth Grade (2018)
Should be obligatory watching for the parents of adolescent teenagers
I just wanted to give her a hug and tell her it would be okay.
Brilliant job by the cast and crew. It was very moving, scary, sad, funny as times. The bit with the banana and her dad was hilarious.
Makes me think if we are doing a good enough job of teaching kindness and empathy to our children but let's not get too deep here.
The Big Ugly (2020)
Worst film I ve seen in the last decade
Terrible. It's just awful. Embarrassing.
Dreadful pacing, terrible dialogue. Holier than Swiss cheese. The story line is so dull. It's not even so bad it's good.
One assumes Perlman, Jones and mcdowell are all short on funds
Boardwalk Empire (2010)
Spoilers
It's beautifully shoot and the actors do a good job. However...
There are some issues with pacing but I wouldn't say it was as boring as some others have suggested. I did find maybe wanting it to be over and trying to get through it
Where I would agree is it has no heart. There are barely any characters that are likeable and the violence feels like a cheap way to move the plot along.
The end though felt like the real betrayal. Killing everyone off for starters seemed ridiculous. The end though. As others have said the assassin wasn't old enough but also how would he have had access to his grandmother to hear these stories and develop the bitterness.
There is no poetic justice about the ending as far as I am concerned, all just very contrived.
Polar (2019)
Missed opportunity
Mads carries this film. Everyone else should be embarrassed. Matt Lucas especially. I realise it's comic book blah blah but it's just too hammy to swallow
The Walking Dead: A New Beginning (2018)
Dull and duller
This was such a great show but it's now just a tedious soap opera. They really need to move this on... where are the helicopters? Where's the excitement.. where's the authenticity. I really must give this up
