The Loud House: The Loudest Yard/Raw Deal (2016)
They thought they could get away with it
The title card for "The Loudest Yard" is a slightly altered instrumental version of "Now that we're men" from the SpongeBob Movie (2004), and I didn't pay attention to the rest of the episode because I was thinking about that the whole time.
Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe (2020)
A Little Under-baked
I am a huge fan of Phineas and Ferb, and I was thrilled to see it return for a full movie! But I'd be lying if I said it was a little underwhelming. It took quite a long time for this movie to find its footing, but after it did, it definitely became a more interesting adventure of Phineas and Ferb. The conflict of the movie is that Candace feels like the universe is against her, and that her brothers are what's ruining her life. This conflict is amazing in concept, and is definitely a fantastic side of the story to tell, but the delivery feels a little under-baked. Even the emotional climax of the film felt a little unearned. I felt the heart, but at that point I didn't exactly understand why Candace was so unexpectedly sad. Candace's arc was really inconsistent, and she only really felt like herself at the very beginning and the very end. The jokes were about as good as they were in season four of the series, which was the weaker of the show. Some jokes were great, and I audibly laughed, but others were just ok. The short list of musical numbers in this film weren't the same quality that I had expected from this series, with the exception being the opening song that was funny and catchy. I feel like it's fair to compare this movie to its predecessor, "Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension", which I feel like has bested this film in every possible way. "2nd Dimension" had it's incredible story presented excellently with its visuals, dialogue, and musical numbers. I also have to mention that some of the jokes in this movie had me laughing hysterically! The emotional beats broke your heart and made you feel for the characters. The climax of the movie was the massive battle that brought together everything we love about Phineas and Ferb, and that scene felt like a reward for everything that the characters had gone through. "Candace against the Universe" fell apart in almost every way comparatively. The musical number that finished this movie was pleasant, and upbeat, but still didn't sum up the show or this movie in a satisfying way. This movie could've been an amazing Phineas and Ferb side-story, but it just doesn't feel completed.
Onward (2020)
That hit harder than I thought it would
I went into this movie expecting it to be a low-tier Pixar movie equivalent to Monsters University or Brave. I still expected to have at least a little bit of fun, but holy mackerel! This movie is a casual road-trip adventure with a twist, which is new territory for Pixar off the top of my head. Without going into any details, this movie showed me that Pixar can still make me sob uncontrollably, and I'd rank this higher than Up and Coco on the tear-jerker scale. This movie has the most likable protagonists that I've seen in an original Pixar within the last decade. Chris Pratt and Tom Holland play the most lovable band of brothers, and add their strengths to the movie's charm and charisma. Other than a couple cliches, I'd argue that this was another perfect Pixar Movie, and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves the classic Pixar formula!

Gekijô-ban poketto monsutâ: Myûtsû no gyakushû Evolution (2019)
Beautiful, but Necessary?
It's basically a word for word, and shot for shot remake of the 20 Year Old movie, but the difference is that the animation is very astounding.
While I think this movie was executed fairly well, that thought doesn't help me clear the cloud of nitpicks I had with this movie. For the majority of movie I was unable to focus on the story because of the bizarre choice to make every single shot linger for seconds too long. I felt like no editing was done between angle transitions, because it felt like so much of a buffer would happen before the next sentence was said. Otherwise, the animation was near flawless (except for the bizarre Onix at the beginning) and I enjoyed watching a great movie from my childhood remastered. I felt the same charm and emotion as I had watching the original film for the first time, and I'd still widely recommend this film to any Pokemon fans!
This was a very random movie to see pop up onto Netflix, but it gives me hope that other projects can be made with the partnership of Netflix and Pokemon.
