Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Season 8, Episode 6

I quite like the final episode
21 June 2020
Before watching the final season I waited a year and a half. I'd read the reviews and in many ways didn't want to ruin it by watching it then one day my wife and I decided to binge season 7 & 8 we were prepare for the worst. Apart from sensational acting, unbelievable work behind the scenes and being amazed on how film making has changed I was in awe. Well done all involved. But like any film those on camera get the accolades from the avid couch watcher.

Let's skip season 7 and most of 8 I personally think that whilst the episodes could have been shorter I still had the rating up around 8 and 9 rating. Remembering we had read the reviews and were expecting the worst but to my grater joy my ratings were differed the final episode was epic for me. Yes maybe a different ending for our hero (without giving it away) but I'm ok with how it ended and I think at the end when ego was apparent where we wanted the hero to do what he did essentially it all came full circle. A great finale, a great journey watching people grow before our eyes. GOT regardless if you like the ending or not the series stands tall with The Tudors, Vikings, Rome, Black Sails and The Last Kingdom. Game Of Thrones to all people involved Thank you job well done

Refreshing

Take the wrestler out, Paul is such a great leading man in this great fun family series. A trip down memory lane in terms of 30 years ago when family viewing was prominent. Paul has great chemistry with his onscreen family and from the giant monster on the wwe. I look forward to viewing the series and watching it with my family

Oh boy,

Having produced films with this content I can tell you it's all real, draining of camera batteries, the lights and sound it's all real. We were shooting a pilot in a cemetery and wow eerie and we had a full ob crew! This set of doco's for those who are into the paranormal yes I think there maybe some creative licence happening but in the main this film for me had me all the way through, captivated like I have been whilst binge watching the series. All very well done. The lead Steve 'prozac' Shippy is so calm which could make one have thoughts on the validity of the programmes. However I feel he is somewhat cool. This particular episode is gripping from start to end, possibly one of the better more emotional with respect to the cringes, anticipation and scares. I like the series and this episode at least affected me the most. Combining the sound effects, the editing, the music and people leaving and Jamie there towards the end just brilliant story telling. My only gripe with the series is to me and this is for all episodes it doesn't feel like it has and ending. I would love like and Prozac if you do read this I think you should have a follow up at the end of an investigation with owners or workers to see if after a couple of months if things are still happening or if the entities have gone? I always feel your stories need that follow up please consider. Other than that a brilliant series.

The Two Popes (2019)
10/10
I to am an atheist but really enjoyed this film
14 March 2020
Growing up catholic and later on turning to atheism I saw this film on Netflix and just started to watch it... I'm glad I did. As a film producer I would like to say brilliant casting to the actors Sir Anthony and John what a masterpiece. This film tells the story not of 2 popes but 2 people who are the opposite in every way. This is a story that is hard to see as true as the pope lives quite a simple yet lonely life. Regardless of my thoughts about religion this is just a very good story based on actually events. To all people involved well done. This is certainly worth a look for everyone.

No need for a long review

The complete series is an absolute masterpiece. As a former Australia producer I am so proud of the most sincere work not only from the cast but also the crew. Based in New Zealand it brings a complete smorgasbord of the great talents from director, producers, cinematography to a unique editing style and I must impress upon the casting just perfect. To all involved you do yourselves proud and you bring credit to our industry. Job well done!

Robin Hood (2018)
9/10
If it wasn't based on Robin Hood it would have been far better received.
26 July 2019
I read the negative reviews going into watching it on DVD as a film lover I just wanted to see if it was as bad as I had read! But to my surprise my wife and I enjoyed it. It was a different take and I think if it didn't have the weight of Robin Hood being its reference and maybe had new characters and new plot then it would have been near on a 10 for me. However being that it was a Robin Hood film and so far removed the story was too far removed. But take Robin Hood away with new characters it would have been great.

Personally I enjoyed the acting how good was Perth's Tim Minchin who played Tuck for an atheist poster boy he certainly plays a lot of religious characters but this being his Hollywood debut welcome to the big time. Jamie Fox incredible different but worked. Ben Mendelsohn played the Sheriff with poise and brilliance as an Aussie actor well done mate. I wasn't sold with Taron edgeton as the main character too clean for my liking in terms his hair was always done not messed, perhaps the story was more like a medi-evil Arrow perhaps.

Once again if the film was given a different scope based upon original plot and characters it would have been great but the Robin Hood story is too entrenched into our hearts for there to be such a big difference. I liked it and that's what reviews are about.
