Act of Valor (2012)
For a 'non-hollywood-star' cast it was well executed
I felt this was an exciting paced, action packed, depiction of Navy seal operation. From a laymen's perspective, I respect the authenticity of the dialogue and operational tactics used rather than trying the audience with kids gloves having to explain abbreviations, codes etc used.
Well done to all the actors involved. As I say, not A-listers but put across the message\script convincingly, with good direction and cinematography.
Red Notice (2021)
Typical Reynolds humour, with a big piece of Johnson thrown in
This is a good all round fun, action adventure film with twists and turns everywhere. The characters gelled together really well, with Ryan adding in his usual outta-nowhere remarks and quips. It's like Raiders of the Lost Ark with a little Interpol thrown in.
I thought the scenes in Cairo were a little short but Ed Sheeran did a cracking piece of acting.
It wouldn't surprise me if Red Notice 2 is being prep'd as the ending was well staged for that. It's one i'd go and see.
CHiPs: Return of the Brat Patrol (1983)
Disappointing end to what was once a great program
Credit where it's due, Eric and the others did reasonably well with what they had. It was the script writers that want shooting, there was hardly any creativity and was probably scripted by kindergarten kids.
Larry got out at the best time. A little more thinking outside an old box for the writers, and an underlying theme through the season would have kept this program going for longer, with or without Larry.
Stowaway (2021)
It was a good, graphically artistic movie
Simplistically, I wasn't too bothered how he got 'stuck' as a stowaway, it didn't detract from the overall experience.
It was only reasonable that they informed him of their issue because he may be able to contribute to a solution, even if that meant taking the lethal injection volunteerily. My main gripe was him not been able to scale across the wires and abseil down to the end, then connect up a canister - really, it wasn't rocket science 😁 even I could have done that.
Big Game (2014)
it's a good old not too serious action flick
Don't take it too serious, I'm sure the Navy Seals would be a little more on point than they were. But it's action packed and Samuel L Jackson adds his own humour which does make it watchable than a C-list star.
