Klaus (2019)
Here comes (santa) klaus
A heartwarming movie, that tells the legend of santa claus. It's a beautiful told movie for the cold time of the year and it really brings you the christnas Spirit. What is missing for a higher rating is the magic from other christmas classics, you know, just a bit more fairy tale.
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
True story
Every minute of the movie is interesting, even if you are not a motorsports fan. Take your time and dive into a historic event, with a lot of big personalties that try to reach their dreams without losing everything they built in their life.
The Disaster Artist (2017)
I'm from New Orleans
A beautiful and funny movie, that shows not every dream can come true, but that no matter what you have to try. Its based on a true story, hillarious and touching at the same time. Good stuff
Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)
Second movie of the series
With more characters, more weapons, more cars and more rules, zombieland double tap returns and makes everything right. Well, almost everything, because the story is boring and predictable. But there are a lot of funny scenes and so it is still worth to watch.
Kengan Ashura (2019)
Good fighting action
The Characters and their abilities are portraied in a totally new kind of style. Its a mix between dragon ball z, street fighter and fist of the north star. I think if the fights would be more realistic and the fighting styles would be entirely real ones this would even be a whole lot better. Too much fantasy....
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)
Funny but not funny enough
Will ferrel can be a lot funnier. To be honest, i think he is the funniest person on this planet. But he doesn't show everything he's got in this movie. The story old and told a thousand times, but you can watch it for a few laughs. Not that bad.
Archer (2009)
Sterling Archer is great
The show started of so good that i am just dissapointed with the new seasons. Why does archer have to be on an Island, in the future, in the past or in space. It's really not where the show should have gone. It feels like they ran out of ideas.
Game of Thrones (2011)
A show of ice and fire
Game of Thrones was a total hype. Every episode was topic in the lunchbreak for sure. It was not possible to not get spoiled if you didnt watch it right away. But not every Season was that as goid as the last 3, and some episodes especially in the middle of the story were just not that great. Also the ending kind of sucked. Because of that i can only give 9 stars.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Arnie is back again
Dark Fate is s good action movie, but its terminator 2 all over again. Its literally the same plot, just some characters and events changed a little bit.
BoJack Horseman (2014)
Horsin around...
Bojack Horseman is fantastic at what it does. Ans that is telling stories about characters that are so relatable. And the idea that a lot of them are animals is exactly the right thing that opens it up for a lot of comedy. It makes the tragedy more bearable. But the series sometimes gets a little to quirky or does too much plot in a small amount if time, just to make the next episode a filler again.
The Party (1968)
It's a lame party?
The Concept is amusing in the first 10 minutes after that it get's boring fast. There are some funny scenes but there is a lack of good dialogue. The song from the main actress is really great and you wamt to listen to it again after the movie ends.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013)
Jake Peralta
Well you could think that a goofy semberg is making this series an ongoing SNL sketch, but all the characters are written well and so the show does not need to focus only on him. In fact, the more time the other figures get, the more interesting is an episode going to be. Even the humor is sometimes a litrle too childish you will be entertained and have a good laugh.
Mean Streets (1973)
Mirko's review for Mean Streets
This movie is from 73 and therefore, technically totally outdated. And this is really the only thing thats bad about this film. Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro - these two names are like a trademark for good work. As a 2019 version it would have been a 10 out of 10.
I Am Mother (2019)
Mirko's review for i am mother
Can you figure out who tells the truth?
This movie showcases brillantly how easy you can keep a movie interesting until the end. Just keep the viewer in doubt. Don't give him too much Information, just enough to make him think about everything he sees on screen. Also i have to say that the android looks great and the actors do too. But there are downsides. There should be more characters and the ending of the story is really not the best ending thats possible for this movie. It's a good movie but it just doesn't have the great feel and the look of a big story.
Dark (2017)
Mirko's Review for Dark
Dark started with a good first season which let you hope that some of the mistakes that german movies and series make would get better in the second season. It could have been an international breakthrough but the new episodes really feel weak and exactly like not what i wanted to see. Just because the show is called dark, it doesn't mean that all the characters have to be dark and depressive. Are there people in winden that ever smiled in their lives at all? Or did they lose that ability through some mystic circumstances? Maybe we will find out in season 3. It is just so hard to watch. No figure gets enough screentime in one episode, there is a constant jumping from here to there between all the characters. So as everything gets more complex and more mysterious, i more and more stopped caring about the boring kids in this little german village. I'm tired. I think i should take a nap before the new season of stranger things starts.
Shaft (2019)
Mirko's review for shaft 2019
Samuel L. Jackson makes this movie a lot better than it would normally be. The script is simply boring and it is only kept alive by his performance. If you look at the camera work, sometimes it's great, sometimes the cuts feel weird inbetween dialogues. Also Jessie Usher and Regina Hall are not really great in my opinion. But this might not be bad acting the more you watch, you will realize that it's poorly written characters. Well at least there are some cool shooting scenes and tough lines that make you enjoy the movie a bit.
Adam Devine: Best Time of Our Lives (2019)
Mirko's Review for Adam Devine: Best Time...
I like Adam Devine in the office and i also like some of his parts in movies, even if the kind of humour is sometimes very childish. But you know, sometimes you need this no brain just laugh thing. Unfortunately this stand up special doesn't work. I think it's mostly because he needs a calmer counterpart to deliver his funnyness. But up there on stage, all alone, he just can't convince me of his stand up talent.
Friends (1994)
Mirko's Review for Friends
Back then Friends was the Nonplusultra. A new Genre of Sitcom that worked on a lot of levels. But the thing is that if you make something new, there are a lot of mistakes that you can make. Others will watch it, learn from it and make it better. Don't get me wrong Friends is great and it's cool nostalgia but a lot of episodes are boring fillers. And sometimes the series will try to be funny or cringy so hard, it really hurts. It can't keep up Compared to HIMYM for example. Even knowing that the newer sitcoms really stole a lot of ideas from friends, they still do a better job managing the episodes and keeping the characters interesting. If there would be 5 episodes less every season and a better more interesting storyline in the later seasons it would be truly a 10/10. This review sounds very negative, but i think Friends is a great show. This is just me trying to explain why i can not give 10*
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
bringing zombie back to the beginnings
I honestly think, that this movie isn't as bad as it is rated here. The first thing that is absolutely brillant is the slow pace and the long shots that remind me of an indie film. There's no need for fast sequences and big emotions. Actually, you will see almost no emotion at all. The Dialogues are so boring, it is awkwardly funny and the easter eggs are getting shoved in your face. But the camera and the actors are great and there are very, very beautiful scenses. But this movie also oozes from irony and subtle humor and mocks a genre (or a whole industrie), that has forgotten where it's roots are. Yes, the film could have been "better", but that was not the point. If you don't get it, it's not the fault of the script or the director. It's your fault!
