Significant Others (2022)
Family scapegoating behaviour patterns
Dysfunctional family relationships. Siblings are divided and alienated from each other... nephew and nieces alienation and isolated children and no real connections or unconditional love. Sibling abuse behaviour and bullying towards one sibling and family relationships are tedious and torturous.the sisters are manipulative and emotionally vulnerable. People in denial or dysfunctional or alcoholics or hierarchical family systems or narcissistic parent or narcissistic care givers or no way to write teenagers script good attempt to articulate their behaviour and experience of their families dysfunction.
Crackers (1998)
Beautiful family movie with heart and soul
Beautiful story of young boys life in a dysfunctional family, with stubborn old grandparents, a pet loyal bantam rooster, affairs, adult stubbornness, elderly members, loss of father, Xmas grief and drinking stressors, humour and Australian ocean. The characters are believable. I liked the fact it's from the twelve 12 year olds point of view and he gets to experience the dysfunction of his grandparents his grandfather he's very bullying his cousin and brother he also bully him and a friendly elderly family relative he's very kind and help him build a boat together. It also has a cute rooster. And some other characters which are very humorous and a likeable character.

Unfortunately scapegoating is often a way for families or communities to hide problems that they feel cannot face.
There is a lot of research done on scapegoating mechanisms but there is little one can do to prevent it from happening. I do believe making victims aware that there is nothing wrong with them as helpful. In rural Australia town, a female scapegoat like the sacrificial lambs slaughtered to provide economic backbone of the Rural Community.... The female family scapegoat returns, to be further bullied, blamed, shamed, belittled, tricked, rejected, isolated and sacrificed for the benefit of power hungry rich 🤑 pillars of the community and government departments and'respectable' town LEADERS. Corruption in country town more about capitalism and patriarchy and the RICH 🤑 women DO the dirty work of patriarchy. Women betray women. Punch down on the vulnerable. Often the scapegoat is targeted by the siblings who were treated more favorably. In that way, the less favored sibling(s) becomes the punchingbag for everything that is wrong in the family. Family therapy can help but only rarely are the culprits and less affected family members willing to take part. So my focus would be on empowering the scapegoat(s). Often the scapegoat is targeted by the siblings who were treated more favorably. In that way, the less favored sibling(s) becomes the punchingbag for everything that is wrong in the family. Family therapy can help but only rarely are the culprits and less affected family members willing to take part. So without spoiling it hoping a focus would be on validating, showing strength of, or empowering the scapegoat(s).
The Batman (2022)
No character development or storyline, too loud
No character or story this was too loud. The characters were very superficial with no death and it didn't make any sense the whole story was repeating story from the past with nothing innovative nothing new nothing exciting. It was extremely loud. The cinema we were in was so loud that when we left we had tinnitus in our ears. Very poor Lee written character development.
Encanto (2021)
Great story about family scapegoating patterns
Don't talk about Bruno... we'll he's a nice brother scapegoated by his rather dysfunctional matriarchal pretentious controlling mother...this movie shows what happens if a person doesn't treat or seek out trauma therapy... the matriarchal narcissism is everywhere and relegated oppressive roles!! The story not sad for children, they are more innocent and resilient, still healthy, the sadness for the adults who see themselves in the relegated oppressive family roles... the strong caregiver, the controlling matriarch, the beautiful perfect golden child, the blamed ostracised scapegoat, the lost/forgotten child.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Hokey, story short of any reality , feels wrong
Can't understand why they made this, superficial and has nothing new. What a serious annoying waste of time.the whole thing as a movie convoluted and the use of viola davis in her angry archetype rage exploitation of trope 'white women tears, ' lateral violence.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
White saviour white women tears
Campion Reveals her wealthy white privilege blind spots, or perhaps deliberately exposing them 🤔 it's got a very obvious what they correctly name a white Saviour Trope, or white woman tears saving the native Indian population trope... what an outdated trip which is really offensive post the black lives matter movement.' But if it's done in a way that it's meant to be a criticism of colonisation, (USA Nz) white land ownership, white farmers, patriarchy or toxic masculine it's done via an intersectional train wreck .... White women's tears for native Indian populations , racism, closet homosexual displaying violent homophobia , alcohlism, servants managing the rich people's problems.
Erskineville Kings (1999)
Family scapegoat, returns home, after death of abusive parent, Hugh Jackman is menacing & violent older brother set in Sydney Australia
This is new on NETFLIX. Sydney in the early 90's looks like a deserted outback town. The men drink beer, take drugs, beat up the vulnerable, smaller, more intelligent, family scapegoat brother. The thug, good looking, cooler, more handsome, brother played by Hugh Jackman is a violent alcoholic bully. He has very loyal friends, one now a famous children's picture book Author. Quite a juxtaposition considering his acting was the , cool thug friend who help join in bullying the scapegoat younger brother. It's actually really good. A time capsule. Empathy for anyone who was young or school leavers in this time frame. Australia in late 80's, early 90's was more GRUNGE than SEATTLE. The scene was unemployment, drugs and sexist behaviour. 🍺 and more 🍻 thank goodness some of the generation X LIVED, to see things improve. Heartbreaking story of dysfunctional relationship between 2 abused traumatised brothers.
HyperNormalisation (2016)
Unraveling the scapegoat mechanism one family at a time
Examples, strategies of successful changes made to a family scapegoat system. Because there are no successful examples, otherwise the power structure itself would have changed. Humans have invested in this scapegoat mechanism and blindly went into this: people are so deeply a part of the family scapegoat system that any and all attempts to change it ultimately fail.
The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear (2004)
Strategies to recognise patterns of family scapegoating systems
Interesting documentary about. strategies of successful changes made to systems of power. and oppression. including family scapegoat system. Because there are now successful examples, the power structure itself is changing. Humans have invested in this scapegoat mechanism. and blindly went into this: people are so deeply a part of the family scapegoat system. that any and all attempts to change it requires now new strategies to examine . Understand. Validate. such patterns of hierarchy and dysfunction.
Can't Get You Out of My Head (2021)
Narcissistic/authoritarian personality disorders are created, rise to the top/systemic failures
Long look at history of human failure, to manage or prevent narcissistic and authoritarian personality disorders rising to the top. The paralysing bureaucratic and bullying systems parallels our dysfunctional narcissistic family systems and family scapegoating dynamics. Humans need to watch this with a focus on family systems as the cause and foundation of privilege and prejudice. Privilege isn't just money it's what you have not been exposed to. A bullying parent or extreme favouritism creates intractable sociopaths and narcissistic bureaucratics.
Home (1983)
About abused neglected children in government housing
This covered so many issues and was fantastic show. Young people lived in shared accommodation like a foster care home. Some of the staff at the home tried to support them. Each episode covered a different issue. Like Child abuse, being raised by a narcissist parent, drugs, homelessness, anorexia, homophobia and was fun, funny, with great 80's music. The acting was great. This was ahead of the curve and relevant today.
I Know This Much Is True (2020)
Family scapegoating, bullying of family symptom bearer with schizophrenia
The show about the childhood trauma of twins, raised by a neglectful mom and viscous narcissistic sadistic step father; who favoured the golden child, and sadistically bully, blame, shame and abuse the designated whipping boy. It's amazing this family are not interested in family therapy as they are extremely dysfunctional and narcissistic. Reminds me of that children's book Scapegoat, where the bad twin gets away with bad behaviour whilst the sweet one, the scapegoat twin is constantly picked on, Good acting and good editing. The set looks and feels very good.
The Trump Show (2020)
Well made, mental illness, ego, power, good music, dramatic, violent, sacred clown,
Well edited and great music. I didn't know a lot of this stuff and it explains things in away a person from another planet might perhaps understand politics and how humans on this planet are doomed. The story was chronological and perhaps beyond my understanding.
Die kleine Hexe (2018)
Beautiful magical dreamlike
Beautiful movie full of magic and dreamlike images
The Dry (2020)
Sons still dominate family farming inheritance
This movie resonates and rings true, individuals, families and communities will find it healing. Not because of validating the drought. But because it validates, the Cruel Fractured legacy of patriarchal or greed of farming families practices. Owning land is power. There's a lot of heritage and history involved, anything in relation to that property is loaded with emotional meanings. In juxtaposition to connection and healthy farming family relationships, the family farm or owning the farm becomes a ruthless goal for power. This is The Game of Thrones in rural Australia. The images of rural vistas, the "ownership" of land was part of what made this a fraught, a subject seldom discussed or most often ignored when it came to farmers daughters.
The farming culture has a mythological focus on men's attachment to the land and by assumption, that women girls can't be attached to the land. For girls in rural towns everywhere, this is a lesson in how limited, oppressed, precarious and dangerous your role is.
American Skin (2019)
The scapegoat mechanism is strong in humans
Good writing.., the scapegoat mechanism is strong in humans... Why are people who experience huge injustices expected to protest in peaceful passive ways...
Honey Boy (2019)
A boy/Child/Family Scapegoat, raised by a narcissist abusive father, universal problem
The reality is, this about being raised by a narcissist parent. The parents are separated and living in LA, and the child gets a job acting in a tv series. The child not really looked after, and father belittles, shames, humiliates, bullies, bashes his son. Like most kids raised by a narcissist, the boy loves his dad, tries to please his father. As an only child, the boy falls into roles to supply his narcissistic dad's needs. The hero projected role, the golden child "star", laying the golden egg and providing income. And perhaps more tragic the role of a lifetime, the scapegoat kid. Dad shames his son sadistically. Trauma in a person over time, considered in isolation from the context, looks like personality. Trauma in a family, over time, considered in isolation from the context, looks like family traits. Trauma in people, over time, considered in isolation from the context, looks like culture. A scapegoating, punch down, suck up story about a child bullied at home, who becomes a Hollywood star. I liked this movie, it resonates, the frightening lasting effects, of COMPLEX PTSD. It doesn't offer up conventional, love can overcome everything solutions. But a universal truth, parents who bully, neglect and damage their children, are damaging the world.
The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez (2020)
Family scapegoat system
Every person failed to recognise patterns of family dysfunction called A family scapegoat system.
Lazy Susan (2020)
The delightful fun Family scapegoat, the bullied daughter surviving a toxic family
Wow thank you. Susan not lazy, she's trying to survive her narcissistic, sabotaging, empathy deficient, manipulative mom, whose favourite Golden child , the sociopathic brother , constantly putting her down and belittling her. The mom uses the triangulation of the siblings and compares them ruthlessly with deliberate hurtfulness directed at Susan. Susan has frightening lasting effects from being the scapegoated child & , pretty clueless in relationships. But underneath the dysfunction , Susan has a heart. Great fun movie , with universal themes of how long lasting , and debilitating family scapegoating dynamics are... as this a huge problem everywhere, would like to have seen perhaps the enabler sister in law , model how to step up , to stop the familyShaming blaming belittling ostracising splitting and sabotaging of Suzann.
American Pastoral (2016)
Family scapegoating by narcissist beauty Queen mom devastated empathetic dad
Yes I would like to have seen the mother daughter relationship explored. The mom perhaps covertly toxic, cold, aloof, passive aggressive and an ice Queen family fracturing, parental alienation soul destroying toxic feminine. mom was a beauty Queen , a covert charming narcissist ,!who married rich , but was bored. Her sadistic pleasure was to destroy kind hearted, hard working, empathetic husband, destroying fathers relationships , isolated him, even with his child the family scapegoat and The identified patient - also called the "symptom-bearer" or "presenting problem" - may display unexplainable emotional or physical symptoms, and is often the first person to seek help, perhaps at the request of the family. The tragedy the damage caused by narcissistic mom and incongruent incompatible marriage. and sad how much the dad loved his daughter. Sometimes incompatible marriage and narcissistic moms that have children create horrific relationships abuse and pathology 💔
Hillbilly Elegy (2020)
Story, solution for family to step up stop family violence dysfunction intergenerational trauma and
Really important story that empowers extended family members grandma grandpa auntie's uncles to really look out for and step up and protect younger children who are being bullied by their parents. This is a really important blueprint and story of how families and extended families really need to step up and stop parents bullying their children. I think the uniqueness of this is that in real life you have to be incredibly brave to stand up to bullying parent who bullies their own child. As family scapegoating of children as many people know nowIs intractable and also I'm treatable in family therapy as usually the culprits resist taking responsibility that's why it's good that the grammar is brave strong empowered and very loving and supportive of her grandson I love this movie I really do and I hope lots of people lots of children lots of family sit down and watch this together because being bullied isn't fun especially when it's by your own parent.
Happy New Year, Colin Burstead (2018)
Family scapegoat, lost child, family hero golden child, clown archetypes
Wow bit triggered by these siblings family dysfunction.. the whole family need therapy and family systems therapy
High-Rise (2015)
This capitalist world critique brilliant
Could totally relate to the Wild character... I'm not cut out for it either. This world a capitalist Place. Won't let me find my equilibrium. I thought it was cut out for it but I'm not. Living in a high-rise requires a special type of behaviour. Acquiescent. Restraint. Restrained. slightly mad.The ones who are the real danger are of a self contained types like you know... those who are Impervious to the psychological pressures of high-rise life. Professionally detached. Thriving like an advanced species in the neutral atmosphere. This film interesting portrayal of how humans have moved from groups to individuals or small numbers in apartment living.
