A-bloody-trocious!
2 May 2024
How was this possible?

What the hell happened?

Who read the script and said "okay, we're doing this"?

If this movie was a joke, it would be a very bad one. And that's what it is as a movie. A huge, steaming pile of p00p.

The acting was really bad. I don't know if the actors are at fault w or if the director can't do their job right. It was incredibly amateur!

Everything technique was terrible too. Scenery, photography, lighting, makeup, special effects... and even the Creeper itself was a sh1te show. Nothing was believable, everything looked fake. Like Xena fake. Without the fun factor.

The plot was a complete mess, the scenes made no sense, the dialogues very badly written... I could go one for hours, I think.

I think it managed to be worse than the third installment in the franchise, and that was a hard thing to do!

So if you're a fan of the Creeper, pass on this one, save yourself the pain.

M3GAN (2022)
4/10
Chucky and Terminator for dummies
30 October 2023
"M3gan" was sold to me as a good sci-fi horror flick with very good visuals.

And the latter is the best it got for itself. Visuals.

The plot is pretty bland and predictable, the characters have very little depth and intelligence, a lot of the scenes are references to older movies and the dialogues are pretty uninteresting.

Some few ideas are quite good, to be honest, but those are too few and far between to keep "M3gan" from falling into the pit traps of cliché cinema. Same for the references, this is nice to see a movie showing that the creators have seen some of the classics, but most feel almost like rip-offs instead of homages.

The acting is mostly good, especially the little girl, and the photography is sharp even if very déjà-vu.

Oh, and the "what the hell is this doing here" scenes... I think the Disney plans are a good idea but... they feel so off, so weirdly off, and not in a good way.

All in all watchable, but I honestly don't understand how this movie got such good ratings when it is, at most, mediocre.

Hellraiser (2022)

We have such boredom to show you.
17 November 2022
Another lame and boring remake/reboot.

This is not Hellraiser, this is a generic platform produced "horror" movie.

In this series of movies, only the two first ones were good. Every sequel was crap... In all honesty, this new entry wasn't as bad as the others. Far from it. But it was, as I said before, so generic. It could have been almost any other movie with demons and pacts.

This movie has no soul, no purpose, no artistry and no drive. Nothing comes out, nothing is memorable, from the story to the characters. Even the cenobites are tame and forgettable, which is an absolute nonsense.

Seriously, I don't understand the 6/10 rating of this movie.

Terrifier (2016)

Stupidly fun.
15 November 2022
"Terrifier" is what it is and nothing else.

A brutal and mindless slasher with no plot and a lot of gratuitous gore.

It's funny because of that. It's not scary at all, and the gore is so over the top it's just hilarious.

The acting is good enough, the photography is okay, the music ... exists. Like I said before, there is no plot, no lore around "Art" the clown, no depth to the characters, victims or killer. Nothing.

For those with a very bad sense of humour, the scene in the toilets of the pizza parlor will make you laugh. It's probably one of the most gratuitous scenes of that movie.

If you're into this kind of thing, "Terrifier" is for you.

Very cliché movie...
6 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
...for a very disturbing ending!

Sleepaway Camp is a well known slasher classic from the early 80's, and surprisingly I never saw it before today (2022).

As a slaher fan, I had to correct that!

The plot is quite simple and starts with a father and one of his kids getting killed by a motorboat in front of the other kid.

Said kid is adopted by their aunt, a strangely mannered lady, and grows up with their cousin. That kid is named Angela, and she's quite traumatized by what she lived 8 years later.

She's sent with said cousin Ricky to summer camp where she will be heinously bullied by older teenagers because she acts very shy and silent.

Then, the murdering begins...

As you can see, classic plot, no surprise. And for the most part, that movie is exactly what you imagine it to be. People bully Angela, they get killed.

So who's the murderer? It's becoming quite obvious in the last part of the movie, when most murders happen. But in the end, the very end, the last image... will probably stay engraved in your memory. I did not expect that, especially when 3/4 of the movie has been so tame.

So, not the best slasher you'll see, far from it, even under the average (yes, the average slasher is quite a low standard), but just for this shocking ending, with the look in the killer's eyes, the maniacal face and the very upsetting noise, watch it. Seriously. Watch. It.

Cabin Fever (2002)

...Cabin Diarrhea...
18 June 2022
Something like 18 years ago, there was this big hype about a horror movie, "Cabin Fever" and everyone I knew back then told me I had to watch it. And I did not until today.

What a tremendous amount of steaming monkey crap. It was a nightmare. Supposedly horror with some comedy in it, I felt like watching a very long Scooby-Doo cartoon with some random blood and sex. It is not funny nor horrific at all, it's just boring 20 years ago USA teenage turds.

Typical teen horror flick from this era, in the vein of "I Remember What You Did Last Summer" and such lame productions.

I must say that now, I'm happy I saw that movie. It proved me right to have dumped my stupid back-then friends.

If "Deep Space" took place in London.
17 June 2022
I was looking for a hilariously bad movie and stumbled upon this one on AZ Prime.

It looked like it could be what I needed, so I hopped on without hesitation.

Well... It's not that bad. It's not very good either, but frankly, I was expecting way worse.

Cheesy, a little serious, a little humour, bad CGI, a cool animatronic monster face, a so-so costume, so-so acting, lame love story, and you have this kind of rewriting of the old horror sci-fi movie from back then (1986, I think) "Deep Space".

It really is the same kind of movie, but without cops.

So, if you enjoyed the old one, give this other a try!

Hilariously bad!
4 May 2022
When you mix the story from "Alive" and you mix it with a cliché man-eater monster, you end up with "Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon".

From the intro to the end sequence, everything is so bad, so terrible it's laughable.

Everything you can ask from some cheesy bad horror flick is here.

The Yeti goes from cheap costumed actor to bad CGI from scene to scene, the Himalayan mountains looks like Slovenia, the characters are stupid and terribly played, the dialogues are hollow and predictable, and there are uses of low quality stock-shots.

Special mention to the acting, absolutely atrocious and the musical score, probably coming from some generic music banks or royalty free database. Exceptional!

So grab something to eat and drink, take off your shoes, switch on your sense of humour and relax with this terrible movie but great intertainement!

G.I. Joe with hadouken.
12 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This animated cartoon series was a follow up to the pretty bad (and hilarious) 1995 movie with Jean-Claude Vandamme.

The storyline unfolds the stupid and nonsensical adventures of Colonel (sic.) William Guile and his ragtag group of undercover agents cleverly called the "Street Fighter".

This cartoon, back in the day, was only made with the intent of selling ugly toys capitalising on the success of the previously mentioned movie and the most successful franchise of versus fighting video games.

If not good, it can be funny at times, especially because it's absolutely moronic, and there are some nice apparitions of some characters and names from other Capcom IPs, like Street Fighter Zero/Alpha and Final Fight.

I particularly liked the moment when that guy waiting for its train while reading a newspaper headlining the fall of the Mad Gear gang (Final Fight).

Overall bad and inconsistent in term of animation and art (ranging from mediocre to absolutely atrocious), this is simply a Mask or G. I. Joe with some Capcom characters thrown in.

Add to the mixture bad voice acting, cliché accents smelling of racist humour, and you got a typical bad show from 25 years ago.

Next!

I was expecting a comedy...
2 March 2022
...and end up watching this pretty slow paced drama about a extraordinary man living an extraordinary life.

Sam Elliott is as good as he's always been, leading almost by himself this film, that's has quite the Forrest Gump feel to it. More than a movie, it is a tale.

Pretty classic in its narration and image, "The Man That Killed Hitler and Then Bigfoot" surprises by the atmosphere it gives, the sadness of its character and the world he lives in.

A good film.

One of Disney-Marvel's best effort.
1 March 2022
Let's be honest, this is not excellent cinema, but that's excellent entertainment!

That third episode in the Thor franchise is so far above its two calamitous predecessors, I almost forgot they were related.

The direction was so better than before, the montage was coherent, the acting so much better and the rythm was very good.

Even the humour was enjoyable!

It's rare, very rare that I like a Disney-Marvel movie, as most of them are terribly bad.

But this one, I recommend, as I enjoyed it as much as Guardians of the Galaxy.

Childish He-Man gets scolded by daddy...
28 February 2022
...and loses his privileges and favourite toy.

There starts the saga of one of the most boring Marvel characters, and a very mediocre movie.

Disney-Marvel surprises me everytime, with those empty movies that people adore but that I see as two hours (and sometimes more) long nu metal videoclips for a braindead audience.

How do people enjoy this?

Thor was bland, savourless, with sub-par technique. Nathalie Portmanteau was even able to be worst an actress than in Star Wars, and THAT was something. Chris Hemsworthnaught is equal to himself, showing muscles and looking like a surfer, but nothing worth calling acting.

There's little to no plot, the montage seems like straight from the Adventures of Hercules, the music is pretty much the same that in every supe movie...

That mess was, of course, a big success and spawned two sequels.

I hope that, someday, Disney-Marvel will have to answer for what they do to cinema.

It was so good...
27 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
...when this absolute pile of steaming turds of a movie was over.

Un uninspired found footage taking place in a hauted derelict sanatorium where a bunch of stupid social media influencers (pleonasm?) lock themselves for a "fear challenge".

If you manage to drag yourself into the ending part, you'll have the pleasure to see a double plot twist so idiotic and cliché you'll wonder if that wasn't just a joke.

I don't know how some filmmakers can still tell themselves, nowadays, that making that kind of movies is a good idea, and some producers to give them the money to make them.

Special mention to the French dub, bad enough to make it almost funny.

So, if you value your time (unlike me), take a wide berth around this wreck and go watch something else.

So cliché...
26 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Let's be honest, this is NOT a bad movie.

Pretty good actors, the direction is good, the sound is par with the rest... No, nothing bad here!

(Well, maybe except the CGI, that are really sub-par.)

So why the under the average grade?

It's so cliché, ten thousand times déjà-vu, there's little to no original work in this movie.

Everything that movie throws at us, we already know since the 70's.

I know there's a fad around Folk Horror, lately, and I love that's subgenre, but please, taking an overused plot and adding witches and tree-gods does not make your movie Folk Horror!

Well, at least, this one spared us the deer skulls...

Rosemary's Baby bad remake
10 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After only 10min into this flick, I had guessed the vast majority of the plot. It so predictable, so cliché...

The acting is not very good, photography is not bad but very déjà-vu, the characters have little to no depth, music starts screaming on every so called horrific scene, cheap jumpscares.

Honestly, sticking deer skulls and pines on a stereotypical satanic cult US movie does not make it "folk-horror".

It absolutely can't compare with Midsommar or The Wicker Man.

Still better than the 1st one.
3 January 2022
From this franchise, I only saw the 1st movie, and it was very bad.

This one? It's not good. Not bad either.

The photography is not bad, the story very classic and the sound design is nothing special. The actors were not the worst, the special effects effective. A very average movie.

Many times, I thought I was watching a video game play through as this flick takes from Resident Evil 4, Outlast and Until Dawn.

So, if you got nothing good to watch, you can give this one a go.

Hilariously Bad!
9 December 2021
Seriously, this movie is not good. But it does not take itself seriously for one second. From the first punchline to the post-credits scene, everything is just over-the-top nonsense. So it's very enjoyable even if the acting is almost nonexistent, the direction as bad as than an old Nu Metal videoclip and absolutely no scenario.

Watch it with friends, and have a good laugh!

Lowbrow entertainment.
1 November 2021
Brutal and gore-ish kills, stupid decisions from the characters, unkillable Michael Myers and almost no plot... Change the mask and the setting, and you have another unoriginal sequel to Friday the 13th, or whatever slasher flick you're into.

It's barely fun, barely boring, barely good, and barely bad.

All in all, it's totally dispensable and forgettable.

Who Let the Dog Out?
10 August 2021
"Cerberus" was probably one of the best SciFi originals I've seen, if not the best.

Technically speaking, it's not a very good movie. But it is overall enjoyable by its cheesiness and nonsensical plot that is almost as bad than Resident Evil games!

Attila the Hun, Roman mythology, some sparkles of Greek mythology, Romanian villagers, dad jokes, guns, explosions, B-movie badassery, PG-13 violence, souvenir shop quality props and north-korean conspiracy subplot... I'm already sold!

Recommended for those educated in the art of nanar.

And special mention to the French dub, that adds a new depth of fun.

I really wish this was a full length feature... Everything that made slasher subgenre great is there.

Gore, silly humour, profanity, nudity, bad lines... I still hope that, someday, that movie comes out.

WORSE THAN THE FIRST ONE!
8 July 2021
And that's not an easy thing to say, as "The Ring" was an insult the the Japanese "Ringu".

This one manages to get everything wrong.

Pure snoozefest with cheap CGI, idiotic plot, bad acting, a somewhat of an uninspired pseudo-artistic photography.

Straightforward and uninspired story using the more used and abused creepypasta.

Bad direction, bad acting, nothing is of any particular interest. Even the best shots of the movie are unoriginal and copied from other films.

I hoped it was a movie so bad it could turn funny... Nope, it's just pure boredom on film.

Avoid it, it's not worth your time.
