Sister Tempest (2020)
Woah...
This was a brain-melting psychotic film. And I loved every scene. It's the type of movie that makes me mad because I wish I made it. Fantastic editing. The actors were quirky, just like the rest of the film. Everything that SHOULD be a flaw works so wonderfully with the movie's tone and style. This isn't a movie, this is a film. This is art. That said, it's a very strange and outlandish film. Within 1 minute, you know what you're getting into. And to me, that's perfect. Writer/director Joe Badon has not only crafted a masterpiece, but a new kind of masterpiece.
Meet Me There (2014)
An interesting southern gothic tale
The script itself is really, really good. The musical score and soundtrack is very tone-setting. Any issue with the film is really due to the limited budget. The ADR is really bad. The editing is come and go. The acting and direction is about what you would expect from a movie like this. Overall though, I'm glad I checked it out! Gotta keep in mind that this was a crowd-funded movie, not a major motion picture. Sit back, pop some popcorn, and enjoy yourself.
Joker (2019)
Wow
In summary: I would not alter a single thing. This movie felt like it was tailor made for me and I loved it.
Hellboy (2019)
Not perfect, but very entertaining!
Have you people never read a Hellboy comic book? Plot points, quotes, this did have a lot going for it. The only thing that I can say is that I feel like it could have either been a mini-series or the movie itself is missing 30 minutes. Not to say it's bad, I just feel as though it is missing some world building and some slight characterization. It's missing breathing room. But stop sleeping on this flick and give it a chance, people!
Drive Angry (2011)
Genuinely one of my favorite guilty pleasure flicks of all time
Go into it as if it were a Grindhouse film. If you like those sorts of movies then you're all set
