Good Gore Bad Script
1 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Yea not much to say here. Good gore some good Kill scenes. Cool looking Killer Santa Not much else. Sad to see this movie get put into production when way more plausible scripts are left on the shelf.

As I watched this movie I kept thinking back to the original and to be honest for a really low budget cheesy movie as the original was I kept thinking to myself how much better it is than this remake.

So to end this if your a gore fan and you want to waste an hour and a half on a new movie by all means but i'd suggest not wasting much or any money to do so.

all others avoid.

NOW SPOILERS

CMON PPl who praise this film! Terrible acting with good actors in the roles (or at least decent actors in the roles) Totally unplauseable scenes IE. Naked woman escaping through window running down street stark naked bloody screaming and instead of plausibly staying on a street she decides to run into a field with a woodchipper!!!! Terribly written is all that needs to be said to that Malcolm Mcdowells death was stupid your telling me he couldn't shoot santa before santa got the flamethrower off Please... I love horror movies and consider myself a Horror Geek but I need my movie to make sense or be plausible to some degree I can let certain things go but too much and the movie can suck right away. There are a lot more implauable scenes Little Girl Kill, How Santa Killer knows ppl are sinners? etc etc etc but no need to go through all of them

As I said good gore but no scary scenes period none! no pop out moments no killer stalking victims in dark corridors with eerie music everything is done with action music and in daylight mostly

Horribly developed characters what the heck was Donal Logue even doing in the movie? Killer was very little Developed to.

I could go on but really do I need to..

I expected a lot more from this movie. Yes these quality films upset me cause it will be a big renter and a big let down to a lot of people. and these are the kinds of movies that gets us only PG rated horror because big studio's wont shell out money on R horror cause they don't get big money at theatres (Mainly because adults see trash like this and think they are not going to get a quality film which in most cases they are right) and kids if allowed in will go see anything and pay. So praise it but its like the early 90's the death of horror. Thank god for foreign horror right now.. Thanks

A True Classic 80's horror (only if you have unrated version)
22 January 2009
i had seen this film a couple of times back in the day and had always thought it was a alright 80's slasher but was disappointed by some acting and the gore value, well recently they had released a special edition extended cut of the movie so i picked it up just cause i collect old school horror and thought it would be an alright piece to my collection, well little did i know i was right, there is so much gore that was taken out of this film i was in shock and dumbfounded to know that for 30 years no one has actually really seen this movie. the gore in this is so well done for an 81 film you can definitely tell they were all thinking they had to one up the first Friday the 13th. its a shame the mpaa are such bastards it makes you wonder how many movies you've seen that they butchered like this one. and you leave that movie thinking it was crap when really it was a classic horror that was just heavily edited. well thank god for DVD so if you see the special edition at your store i suggest buying it if your a old school gore fan there is some sick ass special effects that im sure most of the budget of the film was spent on.

Great Movie! 9 out of 10
21 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I had so much hype for this film and have always loved batman growing up i thought for sure this would be a 10 out of 10 film. but i gave it a 9 out of 10 after i had seen it. there just was a couple things i thought could have been better. (don't get me wrong this film will be a classic!) but i wasn't a fan of the editing that much, especially on the fight scenes when watching it sometimes i'd be thinking what batman actually did to that henchman. this kind of reminded me a bit of spiderman 3 how they tried to fit so much into one movie that you get a lot of information to fast that you cant really relax you have to be watching whats going on the whole time it would be alright i guess if the film wasn't 2hrs and 50 minutes i had to pee so bad after leaving that film. and the music was sweet but i felt that the whole 2hrs 50 minutes of straight Hans Zimmer going at it got a little tiring( i felt the film didn't have any slow scenes really so Hans is just blasting away the orchestra at you the whole time!). but other than that the film was a massive epic superhero movie that is my 1# fav comic book film. i loved the storyline of Joker and what he was trying to accomplish it was just magnificent. the scene stealer of the movie is when joker is driving the truck and Batman's on the motorcycle just MASSIVE! if you haven't seen it go now lets make sure there's more to come. (I'd suggest a drive in or a theater with a comfortable seat cause this is a long film.)

I liked it a lot but it needed more gang action
1 May 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I loved City of God it was a classic and when i first heard this was coming out i was overjoyed. but when i finally saw it i felt it needed more spice to it if you know what i mean. the gang violence was too quick for me i wanted to see more violence i guess you can say and the end with the 2 friends just walking away and leaving town. i guess i wanted a bit more of a dramatic ending than that but all in all a good film. I enjoyed the characters, and the cinematography was awesome. the storyline is very well done as well i guess if there was just a bit more violence or at least just to prolong their quick violent scenes i would have enjoyed it a hell of a lot more. all in all a 7.9 out of 10 if you enjoyed city of god or if you like gang films and you don't mind subtitles this is the movie for you.

Great Family comedy, enjoyed it more than i thought i was
22 April 2008
When i first got this film i wasn't expecting much im not one for PG comedies not really one for PG movies period (i like to see life as life and i don't see it in a PG movie just me i guess) but this was actually a hilarious movie that didn't need swear words or make fun of people jokes this was a hilarious comedy that makes you laugh at family, love, and the awykward'ness of life i guess you can say. not going to say much but if you want a great family film this is it. there are a lot of laugh out loud scenes in the movie but take a look out for the funniest scene when Steve Carrell and his brother in the movie Dane Cook go out double dateing. hilarious 8.7 out of 10

Great Performances with a Great Cast
3 April 2008
i had a lot of fun watching this film because this movie has 4 stories that all eventually connect in different ways, so what i'm saying is you are hardly bored watching this film cause there is always something interesting going on. the cast is great i really liked Brendan Frasers performance he plays a great street tough, and Forest Whitaker was really fun to watch in the beginning of the film, Andy Garcia and Emile Hirsch are great too. all in all this film was really well done it has a great cast and its enjoying to watch. take a look out for Kelly Hu in a small role in the film, shes from the Scorpian king and X-men 2 and not to bad to stare at.

The film is decent but not what is expected
10 February 2008
of course i enjoyed lock stock and snatch so when i first got a copy of this i figured Ritchie was back to his gangster movie making ways. (mind the horrible swept away) but that is not what i got from this film. this film definitely went into a different direction Ritchie left some of his traits from passed films but i felt it was no where near enough. i don't want to go on about how it differs because that will ruin the film. i just have to say i went into this with high hopes of another snatch, and lock stock but left with nothing near that and a horrible ending. and yes i understand what the ending meant but it still blew. so all in all decent film but no way near classic Ritchie. 5.9-10

No way near great but way better than the first.
4 February 2008
first off this movie is not great it has terrible acting and it sucked how there was only 1 predator. BUT it blows the first one out of the water. first off were back to the original alien and predator franchises which were rated R what they did with AVP 1 making it PG-13 was crap the originals were bloody good fun and i felt i lost that fun in the first. second the Predator in this one is back to his kick a** state that he should have been in in the first film. i felt the predators were crap without there weapons in the first film while in AVP 2 this predator takes out tons of aliens no problem like it should have been. and also the predator in the first teaming up with the woman was terrible. in this one its back to a free for all humans Vs. Aliens Vs. Predators. so all in all this is not a great film but it is definitely better than the original. 7 out of 10 even a seven is a bit high for this film but i just enjoyed it way more than the first cmon people really... the first was way worse.

War (2007)

Decent storyline, some cool scenes, but its no War...
10 January 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I did like this movie, the storyline and the surprises in the film are pretty good. but it in no way was a war between Statham and Li they chase each other through the movie and fight once at the end for like 30 seconds. i thought going into this it was going to be a free for all action fest, there is a lot of action in the movie but there's no real fighting they'll be like 2 punches and kicks and Li will kill the guy quick or Statham will.

there's no good decent fight scenes if you know what i mean and that was what i was expected. a lot of people get shot quick too there's no prolonged shooting scene at all just quick shoot twice hes dead sort of fighting. so i was disappointed a lot by that and don't even get me started on the ending it was just horrible. it ends so quick and you don't know if Statham is dead or not you just see Li driving off in a nice car on a bridge and thats it. but it did have a good story and decent action with good blood so all in all i gave it a 7 out of 10 and i must say i would have liked this more if i diddent think i was going to see a Statham, Li free for all which sadly i diddent get but it is an alright watch otherwise, mind the ending of course...

Top Notch Film and i thought No Country was the best of this year....
1 January 2008
i don't have to go on too long for this review i walked into this film thinking it was going to be a good movie but it was not only just good it was the best movie of this year. im not going to say anything about the plot it is way better to go into this movie not knowing too much about it. (I find trailers give away endings) just a stellar performance by Casey Affleck i left that movie saying "that guys got talent" and i knew Ben was a good writer from "Good Will Hunting" and hes great friends with Kevin Smith so i knew he wouldent be bad as a director but he just blew me away. if he keeps this up Affleck will be the next Eastwood of directors no doubt in my mind. for the record im not a fan of Ben's acting choices and performances but behind the camera he has definitely proved to be a great writer, director.

overall 10/10 film, stellar performances, great storyline, amazing direction. anyone who loves a good drama this is the film no doubt... this and No Country, should be Oscar gold in the 08.
