Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Not enough stars in IMDB to give.
I gave all Avengers movies 10/10. When comparing with that scale and the other few movies I have watched in these few years, Avatar: The Way of Water deserves 15 stars. Yes, this movie was what I expect to experience in the theater whenever I go there. First time watching it, after a few minutes I forgot that I had a bucket full popcorns in my hand. This one has that level of immersion.
The 13 years wait was not worth it, we deserved this one every year. But they didn't disappoint after taking that long.
The fourth watch in the theater was still very fun. I hope the future movies will not drop in quality and just be released much faster.
I know you watched it already, if not, what are you waiting for?
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
You will laugh and you will cry!
This movie, is THE movie of 2022 for me. I was not expecting much but, that made the whole movie so much more to me.
I laughed and I cried in the theater. It was good. It was really good.
This is how a sequel should be.
Prey (2022)
Female protagonist done right!
Loved the movie and although the trailer seemed off, the movie was a blast. The protagonist was not just a powerful female character born to lead but someone who grew strong with the minute count.
It would have been great to watch it in theater but sadly, no opportunities.
Hawa (2022)
Way overhyped movie.
1. No clear plot.
2. No characterization.
3. No backstory that explain anything.
I was really happy when so many people was watching a Bangla movie and Cineplex was houseful for first two weeks. But I was really disappointed after going to watch it myself.
First of all, the movie starts blandly.
Second, not a single character was actually fleshed out. First half of the movie was simply waste of time, they could show a few minutes of it and nothing would have been lost. None of the character talked about themselves. The only thing that I could understand from all of the characters is that all of them was really HORNY.
The protagonist, the mute girl, who isn't actually mute, can shapeshift which was hinted that she can shapeshift to a fish at first, but at the end scene she was suddenly a snake. Well, I can guess it looked cool so the director added it, but it doesn't add to the story anything.
The tension in the story built up nicely but the script was really bland. As the characters was not fleshed so it was really hard to understand why they did what they did.
Overall it was great seeing a Bangla movie get all these hype, and at the same time, most of the audience doesn't seem to notice the faults of the movie. I have seen many people leaving the hall before the movie finished. As the story was not engaging, most people didn't feel too much attached to it.
I hope we can see better movies in the future.
Genjitsu-shugi-yûsha no ôkoku-saiken-ki (2021)
Addicting
To be honest, there are a lot of problems in the story from the viewpoint of a critical watcher. But like every other media, Anime is also solely for enjoyment. And I have enjoyed this 26 episodes and binged it in one sitting. The story is not very complex, not so many things are going on at the same time that need a lot your attention. A very relaxing watch. I loved the series. I will be waiting for another season.
