I also found this movie at a $1.00 bin. What a beautiful surprise! The movie was quick,romantic,funny,with an intelligent plot. The characters were all individually unique, from the window washer,fortune teller, to the singing telegram boy. I love little Rosie so much in this movie I tried looking up her biography.

The emotion conveyed in this movie lead me to watch it over and over again. Each scene can stand alone. The intrigue with the fortune teller's predictions, Allan Jones' voice was marvelous. Fred MacMurray's acting continues to amaze me. His character has such sex appeal and magnetism. It makes me wonder how many of these movies are out there that haven't been seen.

This is one of my favorite movies. Being a native San Antonian and a Jefferson grad. I love Jane Withers! Jane is a gifted actress I remember her role in Shirley Temples "Bright Eyes" and the epic "Giant". As mentioned by other comments, the movie was filmed at Thomas Jefferson High School. Mrs. Oliphant our English teacher, and Bess Richards the Lasso Sponsor recalled many times that the classroom blinds had to be drawn while filming was going on outside, and occasionally a student would draw them open and the director had to call "cut" and re-shoot the scene. Jane's photo portrait is prominently displayed in the Lasso office. A further note, Thomas Jefferson High School was featured in Life Magazine as the nations first million dollar high school, the architecture is Romansque and features a dome reminiscent of the famous Monticello. The Lassos were also featured on the front page of Life Magazine.

It was Easter Sunday 1960 that I saw this movie with my parents. What a treat! My grandmother use to take me to see his hilarious movies here in S. Texas. He was the "Charlie Chaplin" of Mexico, comedic, as well as a dramatic actor loved by everyone. It may not have been the commercial success as Around The World In Eighty Days, but entertaining none the less. He may have been given the stereo typical poor hapless Mexican, yet I guess he had the last laugh! When was the last time a movie was centered around a poor Mexican with the most noted stars of the era? I counted at least 37! I still remember the cheery song "Pepe". When I hear "Tequila" today I still think of the dance he did with Debbie Reynolds and that big bottle they popped out of. I wish they'd release it on DVD, I'd be the first in line to buy it!!!
