Flavorful Origins (2019)
Love this show
This show is not only visually stunning, but the depth of understanding you will gain is up there with a culinary education course. I cook with a lot of these ingredients, and it was really interesting to learn about them in a more in-depth format. I love watching this before bed, since it's actually pretty soothing and relaxing to watch.
The only improvements would be the voice over, and making the episodes longer.
An Idiot Abroad (2010)
Please bring this show back.
As someone who has traveled the world quite a bit, this show hit home with the laughs. This is what actual travel is like... You get amazing experiences littered with "wtf" moments.
The Mexico episode had me and my husband in literal tears.
Huang's World (2013)
I tried to love this show.
I watched four episodes of this show: Taiwan,
China, Orlando, & Jamaica.
Let me just start by saying that I love Fresh Off the Boat... Which is why I sat through four episodes of watching Eddie Huang process his emotions like a 5 year old child would. He cannot control his emotions, and watching his mini meltdowns was honestly pretty painful at points.
I am very passionate about food (Asian food in particular), so I was really excited to watch this. I'm pretty bummed that this was more of a self indulgent exposé on Eddie Huang's confused views on humanity, and his existence as an American. Had this stuck more to food and culture, and less to Eddie Huang's internal hang ups, I would have probably loved this show. I'd love to see his parents host a similar show, as they were (personality-wise) the highlight of this show for me.
