Black Sheep (2006)
Bloody fabulous!
I picked up this film expecting a laugh or two just from getting a glimpse of killer sheep. I'm so glad I did; I have to say this movie is just hilarious. I agree that anyone that says this movie is terrible completely missed the point. I was impressed that they managed to form an actual plot around the premise and that while all of the actors were relatively (if not completely) unknown performed quite well. I expect we will see more of Nathan Meister as well as Danielle Mason. I would say this movie is very "Shawn of the Dead," except of course, with sheep. This film has cult classic written all over it. I can't wait to see what Jonathan King has for us next! If you can't enjoy this one, I'd say there's probably a lot in life you can't enjoy.
Vegas Vampires (2007)
Proof I will rent anything.
This film appears to be scraps from an editing room floor that were very, very poorly spliced together into a completely incoherent and ridiculous mess. I can enjoy a really bad horror film, but this one is so bad, there isn't even one redeeming quality to be found. I rented this because Tommy Lister is in it and the premise looked amusing. Unfortunately Tommy's part was dull and one dimensional, and not even one of the scattered plots managed to be redeeming.
The fact that I rented this is proof that there is far too little to do in the town I live in, and that I will, in fact, rent absolutely anything. I have to say "hats off" to anyone that got paid for any portion of this film. Hopefully it was some kid's film school project, and said kid has subsequently decided to find a more suitable career.
Hoodwinked! (2005)
One of the funniest movies I've ever seen
This movie is full of laughs for everyone of all ages. Because I have children, I have been subjected to nearly every animated film ever created and I have to say hands down, this is the best one I've ever seen. The character development is impressive and the fresh twist on several children's stories entertaining. The film also includes some goodies for the 30+ viewers by spoofing "Fletch" and including some jokes that the "adults" will be far more inclined to understand. The voices are amazing as well, with Andy Dick as a very busy rabbit, Glenn Close as a grandma you won't soon forget, and Xibit voices a cop!The singing goat is sure to ring in your head for several days. I rarely watch the same movie twice, and I watched it three times in one week and found something new to laugh at each time! I recommend this movie to EVERYONE!!!
