A proper film
10 January 2021
Not as a racing flick, but as a movie altogether.

The way Bale portrayed the daunting pursuit of perfection has brought this one in the group of films which can be counted on one hand that have made me shed a few. Damons delivery was also up there.

Also more of a 8.5 rather than an 8

Wow, just wow.

A faithful recount/dramatization of past/current/future events/implications surrounding CNPP reactor 4's explosion in 1986 proving that we are being led/governed by actual monsters and USA and RU should be wiped off the face of the earth. Plot twist: but thank god we have animal protection rights. Also not as a critique to the movie, but to the people's mentality/judgement who decided to live in surrounding areas/Prypiat : who TF in their right mind starts a family and raises children only 2 FREAKIN KM FROM A NUCLEAR POWERPLANT. and people gathering to watch the fire, OMFG

Good production value and talented actors wasted on B-category screenplay

Having just seen it for the first time, i wonder why did i bother.

The only explanation that comes to mind for the existence of this movie is that at the moment it was made, Neill owed a considerable amount of money to either Tudor, Anri (ninja/yo-landi) or someone from their entourage and decided to take a plunge in his career to pay off his debt by making a Die Antwoord movie (cause thats what this actually is). if that would be the case, i find it mind-boggling that he got such a reasonable cast to get on board with this. Actually i wonder how they got on board anyway. theres not much to say about the movie itself, the first 15-20 minutes seemed to promise another Neill Blomkamp blockbuster with ninja/yo-landi playing off their stage personas as best as they can (not much to expect there either), after-which it turns pretty fast into a cringe-fest by means of high-jacking what at first seemed to be an action packed Elysium sister/cousin and turning it into a childrens coming of age story/a promotional film for Die Antwoord. the good - Sharlto Copleys performance the bad - Die Antwoord/script

BTW how is it that this gets 6.8 with some 10/10 reviews and Elysium gets 6.6?

Its not a bad movie, but boy is it bland . The whole time i was watching i was being haunted by a vague deju-vu feeling. It wasnt until the movie ended that i realized i had already seen it. Yes, it is THAT forgettable.

Shane's biggest miss after a promising start

Linked my amazon account/made an IMDb account just for this. As a movie, a B category at best; pretty bad sci-fi/action and im the type that likes most movies. As a "predator" franchise entry, an insult and a reason for shame to anyone who takes upon himself to handle something from the franchise, even compared to the "avp" spin-offs. bottom line, b category transformers/suicide squad wannabe/knock-off. shane black, just because you were an actor in the first "predator"a million years ago...
