No One Gets Out Alive (2021)
10/10 spooky and creepy
This is a great movie. Designed to entertain and creep you out & is extremely successful!
Human history is renowned for its embracement of human trafficking, kidnapping, and human sacrifice.
This movie (and novel) introduces little known Aztec mythology to deliver a twist on modern human trafficking & sacrifice.
You need to open your mind to mythological creatures & historical horrors.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Leonardo's was Oscar worthy.
I had no idea this movie existed. I didn't know what to expect. Leonardo's acting was Oscar worthy. Jennifer's too. This movie is worth watching whether you're a fan of this genre or not.
** Spoilers**
Years ago I would not have believed a United States President could be so utterly inept and disconnected from the duties and responsibilities of the Oval Office. Yet, here it was, a perfect reflection of narcissism in the Whitehouse, and its ability to destroy society.
This movie reflects the current political climate, much like Robin Williams' movie "man of the Year (2006)", whereby popularity outweighs experience and competence.
Well done. 10/10.
Progeny (2019)
A twist on the trauma narrative
I can't begin to tell you the impact this short movie will have on those who've experienced the trauma portrayed in this film. The level of thought put into this production can only have come from those who have had related experiences. Told from a sci-fi perspective, the violence & betrayal, as well as love & support, experienced by these characters rings true for many of us. This production would serve well as a mini series, supporting those who feel alone with the burden of shame, violation & anger. The actors are crew are gifted in their craft, making you think this was a motion picture. Well done.
Even Lambs Have Teeth (2015)
Really satisfying
Come on people! What's with the negativity? This movie is a budget friendly locally made movie, not a ridiculous overpriced Hollywood product.
It reminds me of the late night flix you'd watch after your parents went to bed because you were too young. This movie was entertaining to watch and I had satisfaction for the main characters at the end. Do you ever fantasize about what you'd do to all the bullies who ever hurt you? Of course! Ever wonder what it'd be like to follow through? Watch this movie.
Sweet Girl (2021)
Very entertaining
I love movies that have a lot of action, drama and twists. This is a great movie. Why do people feel the need to hate on movies because their not realistic? After this past federal election, how can anyone believe such craziness isn't possible? In today's day and age, anything is possible! The reality is movies are supposed to entertain us, not necessarily be completely realistic. This movie was great. Extremely entertaining and a great way to spend a couple hours forgetting about the outside world! Enjoy!
Aftermath (2021)
I enjoyed it!
I love these horror movies. Great jump scares, twist ending... totally had me fooled. Great acting. I agree that some people may find certain things unlikely or impossible, but honestly, in today's deranged world, nothing is further from the truth. Everything that happens in this movie has happened in real life, and that's what's really scary. I enjoyed this movie thoroughly and was completely entertained.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Twilight zone with a twist!
Movies are meant to entertain and that's just what this film did! I found myself at the edge of my seat on several occasions. I'm a horror movie & Syfi fanatic, and this hit the spot. Reminds me of the old twilight zone episodes mixed with a women in WWII history lesson. Just enjoy it for what it is, entertainment!
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Just watch it!
I had no idea what this movie was about. What a great twist on a common genre of horror movies. This film surprised me and I loved it. Great acting, great chemistry. The lead was simply amazing. What a terrific actor!
Sometimes I feel people are so used to big budget movies, they forget how great these little gems can be.
Things Heard & Seen (2021)
Fantastic acting, poorly ended
What a great start. The story line, the terrific acting, the set, all perfect for a great haunting movie. A lot of effort went into the character development and the storyline. Great sense of community, neighbours and by the middle of the movie I was hooked. But the last 20 minutes was an absolute Train wreck of an ending. Maybe I'm missing the point, or it went over my head, it may be better to turn it off 20 minutes before the end to save yourself disappointment. This was 10 stars until the ending.
Oxygène (2021)
Great movie, completely unexpected
I didn't think watching a movie about a woman trapped in a tube would be entertaining, but I was wrong. Completely unexpected. I love this actress, she's amazing and I was caught up in the entire movie because she is brilliant.
Us (2019)
Extremely entertaining despite plot holes
Great movie, great acting, obvious plot holes. Despite this, it is a horror movie and it did what it set out to do, entertained me, scared me and kept me at the edge of my seat. In order to close up the plot holes, if you simply imagine the religious and supernatural elements playing more of a role than depicted, it is plausible. Just enjoy it for what it is.
What Lies Below (2020)
The low rating made this great!
My expectations were low going in due to all the low ratings. But to my surprise, I was thoroughly entertained. I loved it. Honestly, if you love horror flicks & Syfy, this one has a great story, the acting is great, the mother daughter banter is bang on, and the ending... well, I'll let you enjoy this great flick!
