The Prince (2021)

Hilarious and binge worthy!
31 July 2021
This is one of those that you either get or you don't but if you "get" it then you will find it brilliant and hilarious. I loved it! I can see why some people don't but if you have a witty and wicked sense of humor and understand all the references you can't stop watching! This show is like the person you set next to at dinner who says what everyone else is thinking and you secretly are egging them on and those who don't laugh dont matter anyway. My kind of humor!

What's the point?
8 January 2021
You know when you go somewhere and you don't like something and you want your money back? here we are. This movie sucked. It's a movie where you ask yourself what is the point? why is this even a movie and better yet why am I wasting my time watching it when I am bored. It lingers on and on and gets nowhere and is unrealistic not because of the circumstance but because of the actresses we have portraying these characters. Because in the real world everyone's rich and beautiful and privileged. We get it, Reese Witherspoon is super cute and corky and everybody likes her but still don't waste your time watching this. You won't get anything out of it and you won't think of it after you watch it You will just be angry you wasted your time. I sound like a curmudgeon but I promise you, you will be too after you watch this lol 3 stars because it was half ass pretty to look at.

Very interesting and intriguing

This movie was like watching a biography told through the lens of someone else (someone who perhaps writes biographies so someone has taken the liberty to fill in the blanks) but very interesting all the same. You don't get the impression that you are watching the movie through her point of view though they tried to make it seem that way. I don't think she would enjoy this particular point of view however Renee zellweger was fabulous in this movie. It was definitely worth watching for sure and I absolutely positively loved it!! It's a movie that I would rewatch time and time again!

This was drab and a drag. simply put I didn't like it. I had to force myself to watch it and then noticed I was getting distracted and wanted to get on my phone and do anything else but watch this.

Jane austen-esque for the new tick tock generation
31 December 2020
A show I'm fully engaged in though it doesn't have the refinement of a good classical show like PBS (It's more adolescent, colorful and flashy than that, which is it's true intentions it's not trying to be something else) it's definitely there to appease the younger crowd with its musical numbers that are clearly classical renditions of pop garb playing in the background as if trying to be clever. It can be a little distracting and corny but you accept it. It's as though they have made a sort of Jane austen-es que show for the new social media, tick-tock crazed generation and their short attention span. The show is geared on keeping them reeled in and does not get bogged down in any logistics, boring dialogue or long moments. Historically accurate? I don't know nor do I want to open that box but it certainly is a nice refreshing take. Everyone gets to be included and that's such a wonderful change, especially in movies and shows like this . My only complaint is the hesitant dialogue that the characters have. I get the feeling that they don't know what they are really saying when they're saying it. They're not really listening to what they're saying but more or less reading lines all while trying to sound very proper maybe a little too proper lol It comes off as if they're mocking the character. Sometimes it's as if they are saying their lines for the first time and there is this strange hesitance and confusion to the dialogue. I wish I didn't think so but if you pay attention you can see it. Sometimes I don't believe that the characters even believe what they are saying. Very script read. As though they are reading que cards out of the corner of their eye. It could almost pass for bad acting. It's teetering on that line but I have to give it 7 stars for keeping my attention and keeping me entertained, It's pretty to look at. Also, there just doesn't seem to be anything else on TV in this covid year we are in. I'll put it to you like this-- the show is like choosing a trashy romance novel over something written by Edith Wharton. Sometimes you don't want to have to think that hard you just need something spoon fed to you and what's being spoon-fed to you is definitely prepackaged (not authentic or homemade) but good all the same. It's a guilty pleasure. It's hokey. But like watching reality TV, You don't want to admityou still enjoy it. It's a show that probably won't get lots of criticism because who cares? just watch it and enjoy it.

Something wonderfully different
12 December 2020
I adored this movie and was pleasantly surprised. I thought this was going to be another over fluffed disney production that looked pretty but lacked a good story but I was wrong! My husband and I watched this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect holiday feel good family movie. It's worth rewatching and we arey the types who love feel good corny Christmas movies. Godmothered has the right amount "feel good cheese" that you don't hate. It's just so good! Will be rewatching every Christmas. Wish we could have seen it in theaters!

It's trying
22 September 2020
I can tell a labor of love went into the making of this movie however If you don't know how robots work then maybe this movie could possibly work for you otherwise you see many technical issues. Even if you were to get past the technical issues it has other issues. I'm just going to say that this movie is a big issue. Doing a robot movie is challenging and I do understand that. Props for trying.

Perfection

This show had me crying in the very first episode. The absolute best version of Les Miserables by far! Beautiful and a must watch. now if PBS could make a mini-series of the count of Monte Cristo my life would be complete.

I'm bored
22 September 2020
I'm bored and I don't want to be. I was really looking forward to this show but it's cheesy and not in a good way. It seems like it plays around with being scandalous but it doesn't even come close. The characters are vanilla and the storyline is dull. For a good southern drama that packs on a punch I suggest watching "On Becoming a God in Central Florida".
