Not Enough Cage to Carry the Bad Movie
17 December 2022
Nicolas Cage is not the main character in this movie nor does he get enough spotlight to be in the movie.

We have a lot of nobodies going about, talking, fighting, and a lot more fighting without much Cage.

Nicolas Cage is a great actor, but to give him a less important role in this movie is a grave sin. I don't want to see him mentor the main character for what felt like less than five minutes, if he is going to be a mentor, make him mentor the main character for the majority of the movie.

As for the rest of the movie, it is nothing special, it is about a prophecy/event that takes place every now and then where many fighters mostly the chosen one/main character needs to stop a great evil from space. That is it.

If Nicolas Cage was to be the one to stop this great evil, I would recommend watching it, but as it stands with lack of Cage, do not watch at all. It is bad. Trash. Forgotten.

Skinwalkers (2006)

More of a Biker Gang than a Terrorizing Skinwalker
1 September 2022
The movie is disappointing with its lack of much needed werewolf action and resorted to the typical gunfights and drive scenes.

I know the plot pitted werewolf against werewolf over their conflict of whether wanting to be cured or not, but the story just felt short. There was not enough werewolves to go around. So many guns, yet too little makeup and special effects for werewolves.

There were no transformation scenes, not much gore, too little blood for a werewolf movie that the genre thrives on. PG 13 restrictions as well as the Director's lack of talent for anything werewolf made the movie terrible.

If the movie was about some Biker Gang Town Invasion, it would be great at accomplishing that, but anything werewolf related just fell flat.

I'm going to have more nightmares than that kid had from the movie after this.

A Great Zombie Movie
4 August 2022
The cast in the movie done a superb job in acting and even if the special effects were lacking a bit, it still delivered a great zombie viewing experience.

I especially love the zombie designs, reminds me of a combination of other movies to video games, yet I can't give away the details without spoiling the movie. Watch it, it's great.

Hilariously Bad Acting Makes It a Worthwile Adventure
26 July 2022
Don't let the movie fool you with its horror tag, the bad acting, horrendous CGI werewolf transformations and movements, to the bad dialogue makes it too funny to be terrified by it.

At first, I thought the movie was going to be hot garbage, but giving it some time, the movie redeemed itself in a so bad it's good way.

You got werewolf human relationships, Nazi drug dealers, meatheads who can't follow simple instructions, but my favorite of the meathead bunch is the guy who loves his Ring Pops and his name is Robbie. Keep an eye on Robbie, for he is the real star of the show with memorable lines like "I had to get my candy" and "I always have my Ring Pops".

Anyway, the movie is nothing to be scared about, you'll have fun with it. The plot isn't really complicated, you have your women troubles in dating story, man falls in love, then the action ensues with some side stories to add.

I love werewolf movies, this one is very low budget, yet they were able to accomplish the main goal movies were made for: to entertain the viewer.

Historically Inaccurate with Bad Werewolves
22 July 2022
The werewolves were all just a couple of guys running around naked except for the ones that were freshly turned.

Acting was horrendous, bunch of dialogue with no passion and forced angry grunts whenever conflicts arose.

As for historical accuracy, I didn't know Rome employed women in their ranks of their armies... Wait a minute...

Anyway, back to fake Rome Werewolf movie, I didn't like how much of the movie had so many different camera angles being switched back and forth so fast. I couldn't really focus on what was going on. Guess this could explain the bad werewolf costumes (lack of more like it).

Overall, watch something else worth your time or do something productive because if I find you in Elysium knowing that you watched this mistake of movie, may the gods watch over you.

Slow Paced Almost Fell Asleep
21 July 2022
Werewolf/Silverhide looks like a rubbery rat mask bought from a dollar store.

The gore was mediocre, you could do more some ketchup or fresh steak from your grocery store.

Acting's terrible.

The pacing was very slow, things only get interesting at the 45 minute mark, but by then it is too late to redeem itself. Watch something else. I do not recommend this film even for die hard werewolf fans.

Avoid if You're Easily Offended
21 July 2022
There's a lot of things that happen in the movie from racial slurs to a whole lot of sex references including lots of breasts being thrown at you, but considering the time the movie was made, the audience it was intended for makes sense.

The comedy was a hit and miss, but what is more annoying is the picture quality of the film. It was trying to go for a Grindhouse like production look, but it just looked like a water damaged camera using different shades at random per scene.

The werewolf is low budget as low as the film, plastic gore you can find from Halloween decorations at a Dollar Store, weird worn out laugh tracks, and such would make you think want to watch something else entirely.

Yet, if you turn off your brain, embrace the madness for the sake of all werewolf enjoyers (I'm a werewolf fan), I guess you can have fun with it.

You're Not Going to Like the Ending
14 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In the beginning, the movie had potential, in the middle it devolved into a repetitive story, in the end it had an awful ending.

Special effects were lazily implemented. Bite marks practically doesn't exists, it was more like a rough licking with blood? The costumes look like bargain bin werewolf outfits from a dollar store. The acting was okay for some, but for others it was too terrible and not convincing.

I love werewolf movies, but this one just took a bite out of me. In a bad way.

I might need to re-watch The Howling, Ginger Snaps, something better to wash these memories away. Avoid Werewolf Castle at all costs. This is not a quest you are prepared for.

It's Stupid, but In a Good Way
13 June 2022
There are a lot of parts in the film that needed more explanations like what happened to this character during this event rather than disappearing for the whole majority of the film.

However, the bad special effects and acting makes it enjoyable to watch. You'll have a good laugh and see some amazing scenes that no other werewolf movie has ever done before.

Highly recommend this time waster.

Weird, but Funny Adventure
13 April 2021
The plot was not there, at first you think it is, but over time it devolves into something else from mystery, to action, drama, horror? It's a rainbow colored mess.

However, the movie was made in all of good fun, young actors, kids, playing with toy guns acting as hunters in the movie going against cheap Halloween costumed werewolves you could find on Google search for the generic kind, everyone was having a blast. I kind of wished I could have participated in making the movie too due to the mindless violence/freedom/stupid fun it had. The acting was awful, yet funny.

Overall, you can get laughs from this mess of a movie, don't expect to witness a great werewolf film like The Howling, Werewolf in London, etc. Think of the movie as a very low budget backyard project someone wanted to make, just ignore the first few minutes of Straw. A book advertised in the beginning of the movie to help bolster its sales. I still laugh thinking about it how they used Batman's Scarecrow to promote it from images taken off the internet.

From Lost Child to Monster Encounter We're Live from Hatt's Creek
21 October 2020
I found this movie while searching up for more werewolves films to watch, but came across with a completely different monster that I had no interest with changed after seeing the movie for the first couple of minutes all the way to the end. I have to say, I don't regret watching this movie at all from the superb acting and the gore the movie provided staying true to realistic depictions of Sasquatch than a CGI mess other horror movies had in the past.

Starting off into the lives of a camera man and a reporter chasing the next story to rebuild their reputation they come across a small town with little expectations that soon changed after an accident occurred leading to angry townsfolk seeking vengeance and hopes for saving a fellow member of their small community lost out in the woods.

It was supposed to be something normal everyone thought, a search for a lost child, dealing with a well-known predatory animal like a bear in the woods, but everything changed when the bodies started to pile up on their search. Something else is in those woods and are they still prepared to face what is in them?

Overall, the movie had a lot of suspenseful moments, witnessing the terror of each seasoned hunter and the panic from the news crew made every part of the movie much more to savor, the fear, the terror and gore featured in the film made it more perfect to witness.

I'm quite satisfied with the camera work too, it was not not like an amateur filming their encounter like that of Paranormal Activity, it was from an experience cameraman that made it feel like you were there seeing their journey from beginning all the way to the end of the movie.

I highly recommend watching this film, it won't disappoint fans of horror films.

After Watching this Horrendous Werewolf Movie...
4 August 2020
You'll be filled with so much grief, you'll want to find someone, and ask them these exact words: 1:18:54 - 1:19:00. Because that is what you want, that is penance, and you'll be redeemed.

Misleading Summary for an Awful Film
16 February 2020
Reads summary, sees movie, in the famous words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "You lie!"

I know a horror movie should be suspenseful, building itself up to reveal the monster or whatever in a climax then get a good ending out of it, but to mislead their audience to do ruins the experience and feels completely cheap. It sure is much more cheaper than the movie's special affects that is for sure. The acting is awful, the main character to be completely overtaken by the "monster" is... it does not make any sense. Physically it does not make sense, but it has to be put there or else the story won't continue forward. Deus ex machina event right there to the extreme.

If I were to see the movie without reading any summary, I wouldn't be as mad as I am right now since the plot in the movie is completely different than what the summary says. They hoodwinked me, skinned me before my eyes into watching this lie of a film.

The real summary should have been like "Hunters looking for serial killer gets separated in the cold of winter and encounters something they weren't prepared for." Was that so hard to think of? And the cover art for the movie should be replaced too to avoid the lies and confusion the movie causes too. I expected skinless monsters not this crap.

TL;DR: The whole summary of the movie is a lie and the movie itself is as bad too, save yourself the time to do something else. The director of this disaster deserves to be banned from the movie business. Hell, all this lying makes them great to be a politician.

Not for Every Vamp Nor Wolf Fan Out There
16 February 2020
The story about a man trying to get his pregnant wife back from the lord of the vampires and fighting against vampires after gaining the abilities of a werewolf intrigued me, but the effects of the movie were quite bad. Some scenes had low volume and the high pitch screams in the other are worse than bad memes using distorted screaming. The movie mostly had to rely on bad makeup design, computer images/green screen, yet those bad designs still kept me going into the movie.

I am a sucker for bad movies plus having werewolves in them is a great package together. Just have faith, but you'll get some laughs out of the ridiculous fights that happen in them with the cliche sound effects playing. I just don't know why they had to make the main protagonist look like Ed Lane from Flashpoint while speaking like Christian Bale's Batman in the rest of the movie.

Not a Bad Concept at All
5 February 2020
It was surprisingly good. The werewolf didn't even look that bad at all.

Great acting, great plot, and the effects were all great.

The whole premise of a government creating a super soldier using werewolf DNA and synthetic metal skin to make an unstoppable biological weapon going wrong is a fresh idea to an old concept being secret super soldier projects. Sadly, it always seems to be the case of how originally certain projects meant to help humanity like the synthetic skin to help cancer victims always need to have a military application priority, but good thing the werewolf has his revenge near the end along with the scientists.

Overall, a great film worth watching for any werewolf fan.

It's Like Dragonball Evolution, but with Werewolves
4 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The werewolves in the entire movie were not consistent enough. At times, you have a regular looking wolf to be the werewolf and in a different scene a CGI Roid Rat, but most of the entire movie takes place as regular people with mystical powers doing all the killing without reverting to whatever wolf form they have.

The story is edgy with an emo protagonist who doesn't fit in with society only to fall in love with a weird fairy werewolf who has the power of reality warping? There are werewolves who apparently can use some special abilities like spells, reading people's minds and their souls with blue hands, release smoke fogs from their mouths, manifest a metal arm for the bargain brand pubic haired Wolverine called Gecko? Since when have the werewolves become wizards in the summary?

As for the music, it tries very hard to connect to the audience. I assume it is trying to appeal to teenagers with its overuse of dubstep and punk rock, but much of it feels forced with totally unnecessary transitions to use the music made me skip sections due to how horrible they were.

As for the fights, it had Dragon Ball Z level of dialogues in them. Strong opponent fights heroes, strong opponent wins, but heroes get a power boost making the opponent have a monologue going like "HoW dId ThEy GeT tHiS pOWeR!?". Add this with the Mortal Kombat Bone Breaking X-Ray moves makes the fights stupid.

The plot although interesting, had potential, was executed poorly and was not enough to keep me from enjoying the movie probably due to the summary the movie had with a misleading trailer.

Overall, the plot sucks, the acting sucks, the music sucks, this movie sucks and for any plans on a future sequel should be cast into the fires of holy hell. I can't believe the only good thing that came out of this trash fire is the cover art used to promote the film.
