Love and peace!

An awesome anime. Well actually, only about half the episodes were what I'd call awesome. Most of the more comedic earlier episodes were good, but not up to the standard of later, more serious episodes. (Some episodes were actually kind of boring, for example 14). the final three DVD volumes, where the series becomes more serious and philosophical, are exceptional. The characters of Vash the Stampede and Nicholas D. Wolfwood are very entertaining, Vash brings the philosophy into the series with his views on killing and if it is ever acceptable, and Wolfwood's character development is interesting and sometimes very moving. The excellent science-fiction storyline and western feel also add to the shows merits. Overall a great series all round. If only the earlier episodes were as interesting and entertaining as the later ones, it would maybe even deserve a higher rating.

Elfen Lied (2004)

Excellent drama

I saw the first episode of Elfen Lied and thought it looked pretty cool, so I went and bought the rest of the series. It was even better than I thought it would be, much better. Even with only 13 episodes, This series is awesome. Elfen Lied is sad, moving, violent, has some great characters, emotion, and it is completely enjoyable. The first episodes aren't brilliant, but this is a series that gets better and better as it progresses, and the last two DVDs are a joy to behold. If you don't puke at the sight of blood, this is a series you should most certainly see, and you'll know why once you've watched it to the end. A must have for anime fans!
